LOOK AT THIS!!! The living stones have started to bloom!!! These things just don't seem real! Beautiful and mind blowing! Here are some interesting facts on this fascinating plant:

"Living stones, scientifically called Lithops, are tiny succulent plants that look like small pebbles or rocks to hide from hungry animals.

Physical Features

Shape: They have two thick, fleshy leaves joined together with a slit or crack down the middle.
Size: They grow very small, usually only 0.5 to 2 inches tall and wide.
Roots: They have a long main root and grow almost completely underground.
Flowers: They grow a white or yellow daisy-like flower out of the center slit once a year.
Native Habitat: They come from dry, hot deserts in southern Africa. Their stone-like look keeps animals from eating them during long dry spells.

How to Care for Living Stones

Light: Give them 4 to 6 hours of bright, direct sunlight every day.
Soil: Use very sandy soil that drains water instantly.
Watering Rules: Do not water them at all during the hot summer or cold winter months. Only water when the soil is completely dry and the plant needs a drink. Stop watering new inner leaves until the outer old leaves turn completely dry and papery.
