Before you reach for that frozen treat, make sure your refrigerator's ice maker is ready to keep your drinks just as cool! ❄️

🧊 Ice Maker Maintenance Tips:

✔️ Replace your refrigerator water filter every 6 months (or as recommended by the manufacturer).
✔️ Empty old ice occasionally so fresh ice continues to cycle through.
✔️ Clean the ice bin with warm, soapy water to help prevent odors.
✔️ Keep your freezer set to 0°F (-18°C) for optimal ice production.
✔️ Make sure food packages aren't blocking the ice maker or shutoff arm.

If your refrigerator's ice maker is producing less ice than usual:

🧊 Check that:

• Your freezer is cold enough (0°F is ideal).
• The water filter isn't overdue for replacement.
• The water supply line isn't kinked.
• The ice bin isn't overfilled or jammed.
• Ice cubes aren't frozen together, blocking production.

If your ice maker has stopped making ice altogether, replacing it is often easier than many homeowners expect!

Before You Start:

✅ Unplug the refrigerator.
✅ Turn off the water supply.
✅ Empty the ice bin.

Basic Replacement Steps
1. Remove the ice bin.
2. Locate and remove the mounting screws holding the ice maker in place.
3. Disconnect the wire harness.
4. Install the new ice maker by reconnecting the harness.
5. Secure the mounting screws.
6. Reinstall the ice bin.
7. Turn the water and power back on.
8. Allow 24-72 hours for the first full batch of ice.
