This is a P bass mod in the style of legendary session bassist Leeland Sklar.

Just wrapped up a beautiful 1977 Rickenbacker 4001 bass re-fret with Jescar 47104.

The approach to re-fret has to be extremely careful, especially with consideration to the dual truss rod system in place. My experience with Rics is that their playability can vary a lot over the years but when they’re fixed up, they’re hard to beat for what they do!

This one is playing like a dream and I’ll be happy to get it back to its home 🫡 On to the next!

Gibson with a broken headstock? No problemo!

This one had been broken for a while but the owner wanted it secured once and for all. After gluing and clamping the headstock back together, we routed for and installed mahogany splines to reinforce the area.

Then, it went over to Chris in the paint shop for a nitrocellulose burst touch up on the area to cover the repair. Better and more secure than it was before the break.

Finally, we finished it up with a Plek dress and set-up and it’s playing marvelously with no issues 🫡

I did a fun rewire today on a 339 hollowbody today. The one on the left was the original factory wiring harness (that had been messed with a bit and no longer functioning) and the one on the right is the one I made using the lovely Emerson Bumblebee 🐝 caps. Hello Friends!

We will be closing our storefront location at the Union Collective at the end of this month and we need your help clearing the place out!!

Our last days open will be 3/22, 3/23 (3/29 pending) and we need your help to clear out our store! We will be selling the last of our inventory, furniture, various supplies and tooling - everything must go! **We will be posting some remaining gear pics/prices tomorrow night**

We have downsized to a repair shop exclusively and it is just a few minutes down the road; located at 2818 Loch Raven Rd. For all instrument repair inquiries, please email us at [email protected]

We have some exciting things coming later this year regarding our builds and offerings from the shop so keep an eye out on our website and social media accounts as we update them in the coming weeks.

Hey everyone 👋

We have some changes here at BMC that we finally want to share with you all. In the age of internet shopping, in-person retail is an incredible challenge, so we’ve had to make the hard decision to close the retail portion of BMC. Our repair department will continue on with the Plek machine in a new location about 10 minutes from Union.

We are so appreciative of all the support we’ve received over the years from our amazing customers & friends. Thank you so much 🙏 We’re excited for this new chapter to focus on repairs and restorations for y’all!

We will be open the next two weekends, 2/1+2/2 and 2/8+2/9 from 11am-3pm. Please stop by the shop if you can - we’d love to see you. And we’ll have everything left in inventory discounted & looking for good homes.

⭐️ Gift Card Holders
Emails were sent out to you about a week and a half ago. We’re happy to refund your gift card balance or you’re welcome to stop by the shop to see if there’s anything you’d like to buy.

⭐️ Lessons
All of our teachers at BMC have continued on to teach in other settings. Lessons will no longer be offered at Baltimore Music Company.
