Congratulations to Rae Cumbie!

We are thrilled to announce that Rae Cumbie is the recipient of the 2026 ASDP Lifetime Achievement Award! 🎉

Rae has been a force in our community for more than 30 years. A custom dressmaker named Baltimore's Best Tailor by Baltimore Magazine, she went on to co-found Tabula Rasa Patterns and the Fit For Art pattern line, write for Threads, Sew News, and Classic Sewing Magazine, and teach at conferences, guilds, and retreats across the country and in Durfort, France.

She has also given generously to ASDP itself, serving as President in 2011–2012, helping found the Baltimore Chapter, and playing a fundamental role in creating the ASDP Charitable Foundation, which she leads today.

Rae will receive the award during the Opening Celebration on Thursday evening at the 2026 ASDP Conference. If you're attending, plan to arrive in time to be in the room with us on Thursday night. It's going to be a wonderful way to open conference.
