Some tractors are more than just machines.
Recently, Brent and Linisa Beal brought a very special tractor into Dorr’s…. An old Allis-Chalmers that had belonged to Linisa’s late father and grandfather.
The tractor was part of a much bigger story. Linisa’s family has a long history of farming, and her father took tremendous pride in his equipment. He cared for his machines, worked with them, and kept them going for years.
But as he grew older and dementia began to take its toll, caring for the equipment became more difficult.
Over time, the tractor began to show the effects of age, rust, and wear.
After he passed, Brent and Linisa weren’t sure what could be done. They called us simply looking for some advice… “Was the tractor even worth saving?”
Thankfully, Cody, one of our service technicians, has a genuine interest in old tractors and immediately saw the potential in it. He was more than happy to take on the project.
What followed was a restoration, bringing the tractor back to life and, in many ways, back to the condition they remembered it in.
For us, this is what makes working on equipment so rewarding. Sometimes you're repairing a machine. Sometimes you're preserving a piece of someone's family history.
We're proud that Brent and Linisa trusted Dorr's with something that meant so much to their family, and we're even prouder of Cody for putting the time, care, and craftsmanship into giving this old Allis-Chalmers a second life.
Because around here, we know that equipment can carry a lot more than a load. Sometimes, it carries memories.
