Meet our Team… 👏 🫶💪

It’s August! Which means a well-deserved break for our Team Dinner!

Thank you Project Social Kitchen & Bar, Chef Brian and your incredible team for a delicious meal, amazing service and kindness every step of the way. 🙌

My Darling Maine is a small, but mighty team of amazing young adults at different stages of their student life.

We have Lily Byer who started with us her Freshman year and is now an integral player in her 4th season! Lily will be here through September until she jets off to Florence, Italy for fashion school. We will miss her dearly, but can’t wait to get updates from abroad. Bravo, Lily! 🇮🇹

lylah_wagstaff joined the team this season after an introduction last winter when she helped us through Pajama Day on the fly! If you’ve stopped in, you’ve been met with her smile, gentle nature and probably lit up when you saw one of her drawings on our checkout bags. Lylah is heading off to MMA soon for her first year and we wish her smooth sailing! 🌊

Erin Murphy is experiencing her first professional summer job with us and we’re thrilled to have her! She will be starting her Freshman year at MDI High School this Fall. We see great things happening for Erin and wish her the best in her new school home. 🏫

Alix Osier returned to us for his 2nd season this year. He’s hustling without skipping a beat—busking in town after his shifts and keeping rhythm in the shop with the rest of our stellar team during a busy season. Alix starts his Senior year at MDI this year. We’re excited to see his continued growth & leadership. 🎤

And of course, that’s me, Victoria, in the middle wearing a hat (shocker!).

I’m very grateful for the support and dedication of this crew in keeping us running smoothly, and so proud of their individual contributions in making us better. Please stop in and say hello before they move on to their next venture. 👋

We’re showing for our 3rd year at Camp Beech Cliff “Ladies Who Loonch” Fashion Show. Our two team members, Lily Byer and lylah_wagstaff will be modeling for us. But Maya Bracken stopped in to get a preview of our looks and walked out with this beauty! 💃🏻

UPDATE: ❤️‍🩹Mercedes was taken in for emergency surgery this week, but is doing well in her recovery. To be safe, we’ll open on Saturday (5/23) morning for the holiday weekend while we continue to monitor her. If we’re able to creep open on Friday evening we most definitely will! Thank you to all who checked in and sent well wishes. 🥰 And thank you for understanding why this extra time was needed before kicking off the season. 💕

Dear Customers, unfortunately our opening date has postponed due to medical circumstances with our foster dog. While historically this is the latest in the season we’ve opened, I am grateful for your understanding and patience while I care for her and continue readying the shop.

So, Memorial Day Weekend it is! It looks like Saturday is the best day to re-open our doors (if we’re able to creep open Friday evening we will). After that, our days of operation will start out Thur-Sat until mid June, then 6 days a week for the season (closed Sundays). If you have specific needs outside of our operating hours, you can always reach out to me for one-on-one assistance.

We WILL see you soon at , and we certainly DO look forward to that!

These kind of days are the best days. 🥰

While getting shop ready for season opener is a must, spending time with our medical foster, Mercedes, is a fun distraction. Did you know allows dogs? As long as they stay leashed and are well mannered. Mercedes fit right in—emotional support ball included. Thank you for the love, guys! 🐾

We look forward to participating in the Island Connections Volunteer Appreciation efforts each spring. We are grateful to have this wonderful organization in our community doing the good work they do. Shout out to all the participating businesses—it’s a pleasure to be in their company.

We will reopen in early May (targeting 5/7), and look forward to seeing volunteers then! Happy Spring everyone! 🌿🌷

While WE tell our Island Connections volunteers that they are awesome all the time, this month is also a thank you from the WHOLE COMMUNITY! At the beginning of the month all of our volunteers received a special discount card that includes offers from some of our local businesses, designed just for them.

These offers vary from percentage discounts to free snacks and services and are just another way to let our volunteers know that they are APPRECIATED. 🙉 What?!!! Did U Say,
“Fill-The-Bag Sale?” 🙀🛍️

Yes we did! It kicks off this Sat., 3/28, at 19 Cottage St. in Bar Harbor. Doors open at 11am. It’s a 4-day event (or while supplies last).

Here are the basics:
✅ You choose from 2 bag sizes we provide (see rates👇)

✅ Peruse our boutique re-set entirely for this event! A wide selection of merchandise covering several categories, sought-after fashion brands, etc. Basically the same My Darling Maine experience, but pared down and re-shuffled to bring our customers a huge value op by cleaning out inventory to make space for new arrivals. It’s a win-win!

✅ Fill your bag for one great price! Multiple bags allowed. This is a shop till you drop situation. We’re using 2 of our standard paper retail bags. Flat rates are:

⭐️ Medium Bag = fill for $55 ea
🤩 Large Bag = fill for $125 ea

✅ Read the rules upon entry. Ok, this should have been first, but rules are boring. Nothing too scary. Things like any exclusions, how to handle big & bulky items and what to leave behind (i.e., no hangers or shoe boxes go in the bag). Permission to get a little bit messy!!!

✅ Bring your filled bags to check out counter. We simply need to tie-off the handles as the final step. So fill the bag, but don’t over-fill the bag ⚠️. We can provide another one.

The BIG question: how much product will fit in our bags?

Here’s a scenario for my must-have travel item—the Ilse Jacobsen Tulip (IYKYK). How many pairs fit in the Large bag? [Remember, no shoe boxes]. The answer is 6 pairs! Stuff in a Wooden Ships holiday sweater and you’ve scored $707 retail value for $125+tax. 🤯 😱.

How many pairs fit in the Medium bag? Two (not bad!), PLUS 2 prs of socks, a handful of greeting cards (5 in this case), and you might as well squeeze in a cocktail infusion jar to celebrate your savings on this bag! Total $238 retail for $55+tax!

These are just 2 scenarios from many possibilities. It’s kinda like a puzzle…oh wait, we have those too!
