I was lucky enough to get my paws on an advanced copy of Partita. I know all of us around here are huge fans of .kingsolver and so you need to know that 1) this novel is incredible and 2) we will be receiving a limited number of Indie exclusive editions of it so get your pre-orders in now! It comes out on October 6.

Simply stunning. I am generally a quick reader but Kingsolver’s prose slows me down as I read sections over and over and over to fully catch their beauty. In this novel, we get themes of mother/daughter issues..ones that have been passed down from generations before and others that are altogether new. We see a woman confronted with a past fiery love that leaves her contemplating the borders of her current love. We see the internal struggle of a woman leaving her small Appalachian town and trying to make her place at an elite campus. There’s so much to this book but it’s so, so perfectly placed.
