Foam bumper on this pickgaurd from a 1978 Ibanez had started to disintegrate. I like to remove the failing foam and replace with a piece or cork. Good as new.

I would hazard a guess that Doug Irwin was familiar with all sorts of old instruments before building Jerry Garcia's hippie sandwiches. 1915 Orpheum banjo, a hippie sandwich neck, 50 years before hippies! And look at those inlays (top 2 pics) Bottom pics are Garcia's tiger which was completed in 1979.

Gotta love a Martin! Binding fail, a common tune for 2009-current Martins. They won't fix it or warranty it as far as I know . It comes down to plastic binding shrinks and wood doesn't . It's one of the reasons I NEVER USE PLASTIC BINDING.
If this is happening to your guitar, I can fix it.

This baby Taylor arrived at my shop stringless and covered in about 1/4" of dust, with a pack of strings stuffed inside the body. A little cleaning and setup and it's ready to jam!

Recent setup. First look at the Jack White endorsed Fender Triplecaster. Kinda cool, mix of powder coated and plastic parts is weird imo. 3 barrel bridge, D-tuna , and Bigsby tough combo for stable tuning. Seems like a 5way switch would be cool ( only has 3way) to combine pickups. And 3rd k**b is actually a toggle that lets you bypass tone or completely turn off output. Also a kill switch! Funky for sure
