Not quite summer, not quite fall - it's Shoulder Season, aka "Local Summer" for our Ocean County residents. Time to hit the boardwalk, enjoy the beach, try to get some fluke or blue claws...time to enjoy all the spots in your backyard again before the weather turns.

This pretty fallish summery combo of NJ and imported blooms was ordered for a recent birthday girl and one of our favorite customers - happy birthday girlie, hope you're enjoying your birthday weekend!!

Our hearts are heavy for the family, friends, coworkers and everyone affected by the heartbreaking tragedy this weekend.

In the days ahead, you may see purple ribbons appearing around town, as a symbol of remembrance and of awareness for domestic violence.

Rose Garden Florist would like to offer purple bows free if charge for anyone who would like to display one at their home or business as a quiet show of love and support.

There is no purchase necessary and nothing is expected in return - just stop in while supplies last and take a bow to display.

We hope that seeing purple throughout our community can be one small way of letting her family and those who loved her know that they are surrounded by people that care.

May we remember her, support those who are grieving, and continue to stand against domestic violence.

Weve been lax in our social media for a while, have you missed us?! You know how summer is, vacations, family stuff, random events pop up and make life hectic - please forgive us for being out of the Facebook and insta loop! We will be CLOSED for some much needed vacation time between Wednesday 7/8 and 7/20. We will re-open Tuesday 7/21, hopefully with great memories and rested spirits!

In the meantime, if you need flowers, we always will recommend several of our local florist friends to help you. PLEASE remember to avoid the 1800 giants and shop locally - our business community needs you as much as you need them!

Sometimes our vase recycle program brings in fun specialty containers, like vintage tins. I've been looking at this one for a few weeks, and decided I'd pair it with some NJ sunflowers, bupleurum, asters and mini dianthus. Available for purchase, in our stocked fridge this week 😊

The only thing more Jersey than summer flowers is tomato salad with a side of corn.

This is what we do to encourage and support local NJ growers - we buy as much as we can while they're available. We combine local blooms with our more standard stems, so there is always a beautiful mix. So far it's been larkspur, yarrow, sunflowers, lilies, asters, delphiniums, pennycress, etc.

Which do you prefer - the pastelly pink vase, or the more vibrant bold statement
