🥧 THE GREAT MARIGOLDS PIE OFF! 🥧

If you've ever watched Gilmore Girls and thought, "I wish our town did ridiculous things like that," well, we're taking matters into our own hands.

October 31st, Downtown Bartlesville is closing off Johnstone Avenue for a good old fashioned Fall Festival! We're talking food, games, fall festivities, and a whole lot of small town fun.

Naturally, we decided the best contribution Marigolds could make was to put 16 people in ponchos and have them eat pie competitively.

Here's the plan!

🥧 $15 cash entry, with registration the morning of the festival!
🥧 Two rounds with 8 contestants each. Everyone gets their very own apple or blueberry pie.
🥧 The winner of each round advances to the final showdown, where they'll compete for a $100 Marigolds gift card!
And yes, we're providing ponchos. We're a bookstore, not monsters.
🥧 Here's the kicker y'all... you may only use 1 singular hand ....

The best part? Every dollar collected in entry fees goes right back into supporting next year's Downtown Fall Festival!

So bring the kids, bring the grandparents, bring that one relative who takes absolutely everything too seriously. Come enjoy a little fall fun with us and all the wonderful businesses downtown who each have something fun planned!

Whether you're brave enough to compete or just want to watch your neighbors make questionable decisions, we'd love to have you.

Happy Friday, Goldies!! 🎃🖤
Another Friday, another Halloween costume! The first TWO people to correctly guess who I've dressed up as will each win a $10 Marigolds gift card! 👀
Now, onto the books!
I recently finished We Came to Welcome You, and while I was intrigued, I can't say it completely won me over. A few plot holes, some unanswered questions, and a general feeling of wanting just a little more from the story.
I've since moved on to The Witch by Freida McFadden, so we'll see where this one takes us! 📖
Have you read either? I'd love to hear your thoughts, but let's keep those spoilers to ourselves!

📖Bring your family to Marigold's Bookstore to listen to the classic tale of Cinderella, read by the Fairy Godmother! She'll be in her fancy dress, and costumes/beautiful dresses are encouraged as we view a beautiful pop-up version of Cinderella. Snacks and party favors included for children who attend.

We have a very special guest with us this morning! Bartlesville native and PRH author Meredith Fraser is here at Marigolds showcasing her beautiful children’s book, Cora’s Fancy Shawl, a Native American story celebrating culture, family, and tradition.

Good Monday Morning Goldies!!
October is getting busy around here. 🍂📚

We have two very fun events coming up and we wanted to make sure they were officially on your calendar!

On October 3rd at 9:30 AM, we are welcoming Penguin Random House author Meredith Fraser to Marigolds! Meredith will be chatting with us about her new children’s book, Cora’s Fancy Shawl Dance. Come meet the author, hear about the book, and spend a sweet Saturday morning with us. ❤️

Then on October 12th, we are teaming up with Young Scholars of Bartlesville for the THIRD time for Death by Chocolate and bringing back our Blind Date Book Bar!

Pick a genre, unwrap a surprise book, then decorate and stuff your blind date with bookmarks, stickers, and other little goodies. Even better, it all supports an organization we absolutely love working with.
