Ancestral rage unleashed. 🕊️

Inspiration is everywhere. For this book, music has been the key to keep me on track. I have a playlist growing. Alanis’s version was already on it, and I’m hoping Brandie releases a full version I can add.

Anyway, send me all your femme rage/girl power song recs!

I don’t like talking about my books too much before they’re released (call me paranoid) but yes, the book’s theme is restoration of the matriarchy. 🙏🏼

Friendly reminder to get outside and try new things! I had never gone wake surfing before, so I was very excited when I was able to get up on my first try!

Experiences are fuel for writing. To be a storyteller, you must live life. Go on adventures, take risks, embrace new challenges, be social, allow love and friendship into your life. The more you live, the more inspiration you’ll discover.

On that note, here’s an author update:

📚 I finally wrote & finalized the book descripton for my newest children’s book, so that will be released soon!
📚 All the artwork is done for the newest Christmas chapter book, and I’ll start placing those images into the manuscript next week!
📚 Writer’s block continues to plague me with my alternative history fantasy novel. I’m trying to keep the historic aspect as spot on as possible, so I keep getting bogged down by research. That being said, the pr*****ed time has allowed for some new ideas to grow that I think will greatly strengthen the story.
📚 I’m on the hunt for a cool new booth setup. This hunt has been going on for almost 2 years now, but I’m hoping to make real progress before the holidays. I don’t want to talk too much about it till it’s actually happening, but my hope is that by saying it publicly, maybe it’ll kick me into action. 🫠

While hiking, I received some wise advice from this mountain goat. 🐐 He reminded me that big things happen in little steps. Even if I’m not where I want to be, I will get there if I keep walking. 🤍

Between my many recent steps and travels, I’ve been chugging along on my writing projects. Here’s my most recent author update! ✍🏼

📚 My newest children’s book is completed! After I finish laying out the text, it’ll be ready for print.
📚 The next Christmas chapter book has been edited, and is currently being illustrated!
📚 I’ve finally made some solid progress on the witch/monster novel that has been in the works for a while now.
📚 I’ll be attending the NJ State Fair in Sussex County with my books from July 31-Aug 4th!

Author update! I’ll probably do this in a video again tomorrow or the next day, but here are some random recent photos a...

Author update! I’ll probably do this in a video again tomorrow or the next day, but here are some random recent photos and update on what I’ve been up to. 📚

I have a new children’s book in the works, which I’m very excited about! I think the storyline will be very helpful for a lot of parents and the artwork is coming out beautiful.

I’m working on a second children’s book that I would like to give to another artist I love working with, I’m just struggling with the storyline a bit. (Kid’s books aren’t as easy to write as it may seem!)

The 4th installment for the Saving Christmas Chronicles has been edited and is going to the artist next week! The story turned out super cute and I’m excited to see the characters come to life in illustration.

I’m still working on the monster/witch adult novel that I’ve mentioned many times over the past year. I’m hoping to make a lot more headway on that in the next month. 🤞🏼 The underlying topic that it covers is pretty huge, and I really want to get it right, so I’m taking my time with it.

I’m also working on changing up my event schedule and finding a new way to attend different types of events. I don’t want to get too into it yet, but once I have some news, I will definitely start sharing. It’ll be pretty exciting once I get it going. 😊

Mastering a concise & effective elevator pitch is probably the most important part of attending shows as an author.

I have 3 levels for each book on my table.

1. Genre only. (3-4 words max.)
2. Genre/Topic + one hook line. (One sentence max.)
3. Genre/Topic + the full pitch (Two - three sentences max.)

I gauge which one I do by reading the body language of the person I am talking to. If they’re interested, then I’ll nerd out on them. 🤓

This video is a level 2 pitch for my children’s books. 😊
(I wasn’t planning on using this video for this purpose, otherwise I would’ve talked louder. But the people at my booth could hear me just fine.)

BookCon 2026 far surpassed all my bookish dreams. 😍 So many amazing readers stopped by my booth—I barely had time to think or breathe between chats! (It was incredible!)
I loved every conversation I had and I am so grateful to everyone who came by my booth and gave my books new homes. You really made the weekend extra special. ❤️

I had to restock my bookshelves between Saturday and Sunday to prevent from selling out! Luckily, I live nearby. 🚐 I am also lucky to have the best parents in the world. My mom is a rockstar assistant during show hours. She has all the book pitches down to memory and always shares them with a smile. And my dad is Superman with helping me load in and out. I really couldn’t do it without them and I am so grateful for their help. ❤️ There are little clips of them in action in the slideshow.

I hope to see everyone again at BookCon 2027!

This BookCon entry line demolishes any recent NYCC entry line. While I’m sure it’s overwhelming for readers to stand in this crowd, I PROMISE you that this is a good thing—it’s a sign that we haven’t lost all hope to the easy-consumption fast media dopamine hits. I’ve attended events all over the country since 2014 and I’ve seen how our culture is evolving. There is an overwhelming push for graphic novels and manga, and it gets worse every year. Nothing wrong with those mediums, but they are not the same as reading a book, and we are slowly losing the younger generation to this type of short-form, comic-style reading. So, seeing the book community turn out in massive numbers for a true book event makes my heart sing.

I’ve always felt that the lack of large-scale book events was due to event groups thinking that readers wouldn’t show up … well, HERE WE ARE. I’m very grateful that ReedPop brought BookCon back! 🙏🏼

I’ve NEVER seen an entry line like this before. READERS UNITE!

BookCon 2026 is finally here! I’ve been missing this show, and I’m so excited that it’s back.

I’ll be at ✨Booth 165✨ (across from Simon & Schuster) all weekend! 😊📚
