At Gramma Navajoโ€™s Trading Post, we believe books can be a beautiful way to learn, connect, and celebrate Indigenous history and culture.

This section features stories and educational pieces centered around the ribbon skirtโ€”its history, meaning, resilience, identity, and the many ways it continues to be a powerful expression of Indigenous women and communities.๐Ÿชถ

Featured here is What Your Ribbon Skirt Means to Me: Deb Haalandโ€™s Historic Inauguration, along with The History of the Ribbon Skirtโ€”just two of the many meaningful books and resources you can discover in our Book Nook.

Whether youโ€™re looking to learn something new, find a meaningful gift, or choose a book to share with the next generation, come spend some time browsing with us. ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŒฝ

Welcome to Gramma Navajos โ€” a labor of love rooted in Native American tradition, handmade artistry, and the spirit of community. We are an indigenous women-owned and operated gift shop nestled in the heart of Basom, New York, where every piece we carry tells a story passed down through generations.

The name Gramma Navajos is a tribute to the artisans whose hands shaped these traditions โ€” women and men who poured their culture, their prayers, and their creativity into every bead, every stitch, and every stone. We carry that legacy forward with deep respect and pride.

Our collection is a celebration of Native American cultural artistry. The designs, symbols, and materials we use carry deep meaning โ€” connecting wearers to the land, to ancestry, and to a living tradition that continues to thrive today. We are committed to honoring these traditions authentically, ensuring that every piece is made with cultural integrity and respect.

We also carry spiritual items that reflect the sacred practices and beliefs of Native communities. These are offered with reverence, and we welcome questions from anyone who wants to learn more about their significance.

We love hearing from our community โ€” whether you have a question about a piece, want to learn more about our artisans, or are planning your first visit.

Thank you for supporting handmade, authentic, and culturally meaningful art. We are so glad you found us.

Bolo ties have been around in Western fashion for decades, but they existed long before cowboy culture. Bolo ties were born from Native American craftsmanship to the present day fashion of the catwalks. Whether you want to lean into tradition, a western vibe or just need a fun conversation starter, bolo ties are a distinctive way to express personal style๐Ÿ•บ ๐ŸŒŸ ๐Ÿคฉ

Bolo ties are available now in store & online!
