There are some nights that are about the movie … and some nights that are about the women you see it with. A group of us girls decided that seeing Practical Magic 2 on opening night required a little more ceremony than simply buying tickets. So we gathered the coven, dressed appropriately witchy, headed to Alamo, ordered margaritas - because obviously - and made an entire girls night of it. And THAT may have been my favorite part. There is just something wonderful about getting dressed up, being ridiculous together, laughing too loudly, drinking margaritas, and spending an evening surrounded by the women you love. We had an absolute blast! As for the movie itself? I went in with dangerously high expectations because the original Practical Magic has been one of my favorite movies forever. Somehow … they exceeded them. There was more realistic magic. More story. More emotion. More depth. It still had everything I loved about the first movie, but it felt richer and somehow even more magical. I honestly think I loved it MORE than the original - something I absolutely did not expect to say. The movie was fantastic. But the memory of a bunch of women dressing like witches, raising margaritas together and making a night of it? That was the real magic. 🖤
