Originally from Canada and now living in Mississippi, he’s one of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet, and he won’t even get offended if you ask him about his accent! 😂 (He thinks we are the ones with the accent! 😂😂😂)

Huge news in the pharmacy world yesterday when the Patients Before Monopolies Act was reintroduced in Congress!

This bill breaks up the vertical integration practices that abuse independent pharmacies and patients alike, requiring PBMs to choose to either operate as a PBM or as pharmacy, not both. Hallelujah!

Rep. Jake Auchincloss and Rep. Diana Harshbarger have again taken the lead on this bill in the House, and Senator Josh Hawley and U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren are leading the charge in the Senate. Fixing the problems PBMs have caused has support on both sides of the aisle, as it should. As I've heard Congressman Buddy Carter say before -- When a patient walks into our pharmacies, we don't ask them if they are a Republican, Democrat, or Independent before we help them!

I am thankful that work is being done in Washington on behalf of independent pharmacies and their patients, and I'm praying the change we so desperately need is coming soon!
