Here are 7 Red Koi guppies, 2 months old. This very tank used to hold about 40 of them. One morning four weeks ago, I woke up to find the entire tank sick, even though they were perfectly healthy the night before. Because they were still too small back then, I couldn't catch the early signs to isolate the sick ones for treatment. I had to treat the whole tank, but unfortunately, every single one of them died within just 3 days. At the exact same time, another tank with a similar headcount also broke out, and they all wiped out completely
Can you believe it? In the span of 3 days, I lost about 70 fish. The disease spreads incredibly fast and hits so hard that it's impossible to save them. Every fish at my farm shares the exact same water source, and I do regular water changes and cleanings once every 2 days. Yet, occasionally, a few fish—or worst-case scenario, a few entire tanks—still get sick. Most guppy diseases are highly contagious; there are really only about 2 or 3 illnesses that are actually easy to treat. In all my years of keeping fish, there have been unexplainable cases where fish just get sick, and some situations that maybe only I have ever run into. There are many times I can cure them, but there are also times when it’s simply impossible 🙅🏻♂️
