📢 ⚠️ Safety tip for potential vendors❗️
We will never message you from a personal profile to solicit your participation at any of our markets. Scammers have been targeting vendors for a while now. Not just for our events but for just about every event. We have a website where you can find all the information you need if you are interested in being a vendor including an online store for payments.
In general I would stay away from dealing with personal Facebook profiles. There should be a business page or at least a Facebook event which you should be able to use to double check vendor signup information. Double check the profile of the person messaging you. Do they have a really low friend count? Many friends in different countries? Very few posts and generic pictures? Newer account? These are all red flags and should have you doubting. If you still decide that you trust them enough to send them money then do it in a way that protects you. If sending money directly use a platform with buyer protection like PayPal Goods and Services.
Please be vigilant and stay safe. We monitor our pages daily but there are so many of them and they are so persistent that we don't always notice it right away so that we can delete and block them. It's unfortunate that we have to share this but maybe this well help someone else from getting scammed.
