🌿 Tip/Tutorial Tuesday~
Choosing the Right Plant for the Right Spot 🌿

One of the biggest gardening mistakes isn’t how you care for a plant , it’s planting the wrong plant in the wrong place!

Before you shop, take a few minutes to evaluate your space:

☀️ Sun
How many hours of direct sunlight does the area receive?
• Full Sun = 6+ hours
• Part Sun/Shade = 3–6 hours
• Shade = Less than 3 hours

💧 Water
Does the area stay dry, average, or wet after rain?

📏 Space
How tall and wide can a plant grow in this area? Remember to plan for its mature size, not the size it is in the pot today.

🌴 Purpose
What do you want the plant to do?
• Provide privacy
• Add color
• Attract pollinators
• Cover bare ground
• Accent an entryway
• Fill a container

💡 Pro Tip:
📸Take a photo of the planting area and 📝make note of the sun exposure, moisture level, available space, and what you’d like the plant to accomplish.

Come into LowCo Garden Center this week and show us your photo! We’ll help you find the perfect plants for your space and set you up for success.

The right plant in the right place means less maintenance, less watering, and a healthier, happier landscape.

Happy Monday, LowCo Gardeners! 🌿

After all this rain, your garden beds are getting a nice deep soak. Once the soil is workable and not too muddy, it’s a great time to get new plants in the ground. Moist soil is often easier to dig than dry, compacted ground, and the extra moisture helps new roots get established and settle in more quickly.

Stop by this week and let us help you find the perfect plants for your landscape. Happy planting! 🌸🌱

🤗Good morning LowCo Gardeners 🌿💧
It’s Tips/Tutorial Tuesday!

One of the MOST common questions we get this time of year:

“Am I overwatering… or underwatering?”
The tricky part? They can actually look VERY similar.

🌱 OVERWATERING signs:
• Yellow leaves
• Mushy stems
• Drooping even when soil is wet
• Leaves falling off
• Mildew, fungus, or rot
• Soil staying soggy for days

☀️ UNDERWATERING signs:
• Crispy brown edges
• Dry lightweight soil
• Wilting during heat
• Dropping flowers
• Dry brittle leaves
• Pots pulling away from soil edges

Quick tip:
Before watering, stick your finger down into the soil first. A droopy plant does NOT always mean it needs more water!
Here in the Lowcountry, too much water during rainy humid weather is honestly just as common as not enough 🌧️
