✨ MEET THE COLLECTIVE ✨

Meet Leslie Kibodeaux Venable, one half of Vintage Vagabond! She has such a fun, stylish eye and a true love for vintage fashion. I just love the personality and creativity she brings to our one and only vintage closet, and I’m so excited to have her as part of this little dream of mine!

My name is Leslie Venable and I’ve lived in Southeast Texas my entire life. Born in Beaumont, went to school in Lumberton and have worked retail in Beaumont for over 40 years. After my position as Visual Merchandising Manager was eliminated (I LOVED this job) I searched for a creative outlet for several years and then I discovered Mad Men (Janie Bryant Costumer designer) on AMC during its original run. It is set in the 1960s on Madison Avenue at a marketing agency. The sets, the barware, and the CLOTHES!! I was hooked and the rest is history
I enjoy finding items locally at garage sales, estate sales and thrift stores. My biggest score so far was a Gilbert Adrian coat I found at an estate sale in Port Arthur for $40. I find the hunt, researching and learning history of garments and curating and building a little store of my own is so rewarding and enjoyable and it feeds my creative spirit.
I enjoy traveling, movies and costume design, and reading.

I just love the beautiful, collected eye behind The Vintage Teacher. Veronica’s love of history, travel, and pieces with a story brings such a special layer to Southern Vintage Collective and I’m so happy to have her as part of this little dream of mine, and I can’t wait for y’all to see what she brings to the shop. 🤍

Hi! I’m Veronica and for 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of being an educator, and I currently teach British Literature to seniors at Lumberton High School. Outside the classroom, I’m a wife, a mom to a senior at Lumberton High School, and the owner of The Vintage Teacher.

My favorite hobby is the searching for those special, one-of-a-kind pieces that make a booth feel collected, interesting, and full of stories. I love all things vintage, with a particular passion for brass, silver, folk art, and European furniture.

My husband and I love to travel, and those experiences have greatly influenced the way I curate and style my booths. I’m inspired by the beauty, history, and character found in different cultures, and I love bringing a little of that world home through the pieces I choose.

For me, The Vintage Teacher is more than a collection of beautiful things. It’s a reflection of my love for history, travel, craftsmanship, and the thrill of finding something wonderful and giving it a new place to be appreciated.💚
