Beaumont Yarn Co will be doing a Holiday Yarn Surprise kit this year! I can’t call it an advent calendar because it won’t be 24 days of opening packages to find markers, tea bags, scissors or other doodads that you may or may not need with an occasional mini skein thrown in. This will be 12 mini skeins that are merino and nylon blend fi*****ng weight hand dyed yarn and a pattern that you may want to use with them. That gives you a present to open every other day in December leading up to Christmas. It also gives you two days to knit or crochet up the mini before getting the next one! The yarn will not be Christmas colors, so this will be a project to use all winter in years to come. The kits will sell for $70 and will be available at Strings and Things starting Nov 15. New yarn colors inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas. Available now are Sandy Claws, Jack Skellington, Sally and Lock. Coming soon Shock, Barrel and Oogie Boogie. Fi*****ng weight merino/ nylon blend in 100 gr skeins and minis. I’m thinking of using them all in a throw. Project pictures will be coming soon!

Knitting the Listado Lace Cowl by from the book Circular Knitting Redefined. I’m using held together with Beaumont Yarn Co mohair/silk. It amazes me to see how much that tiny strand of mohair/silk can change the overall look! Feels like a kitten y’all.

Finished the in four days! Now that included two days of waiting to see if my house would be demolished by a hurricane, so that may have been some nervous speed knitting. Fortunately the storm took a last minute turn and went East of me. The pattern is extremely well written, as are all patterns. I used 100% merino fi*****ng weight paired with lace weight mohair/silk both in this fun magenta color. I’m already planning my next one!

August yarn of the month will be a little late. My yarn vendor has been out of stock for two months. They are expecting a shipment on August 6, so I’ll be hounding them first thing in the morning to get the yarn we need!! I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

What a fun weekend! Four days in Ft Worth at the hanging out with my Beaumont knit sisters and visiting with my friends from other parts of Texas. Thanks to all of you that worked so hard to make the weekend such a success. Thanks too to those of you that made it a great vending weekend for me too. What a win win!
