A quick update on things -

I've been up to my eyeballs in "real" work and personal commitments. The current status of the various projects is:

Combine 11 - out of stock
Coach 17/18 - out of stock
Caboose 553 - 12 on hand
Railbus 3 - 5 on hand

Railbus 4 is expected the first half of 2025. CAD is pretty much done, need to sort out the headlights.

MEC Laconia caboose will follow, hopefully by the end of the year. Body CAD is done, need to fit the Tichy brake components and do the CAD for the interior.

I've had several requests for the combine and the coach. I'll fit these in when I can, but I don't want to project a date right now. I have to come up with an alternative to the Shapeways trucks I'd been using.

Hi, everybody!

It's been a long road, but I'm pleased to announce that I'm now accepting pre-orders for the HOn30 kit of the Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes Railbus 3, the latest offering from Railroad Memories of Maine.

Railbus 3 began as an open-body configuration with a Ford Model T drivetrain in 1925. Over the winter of 1925-1926 the carbody was enclosed and was used between Strong and Carabasset. It is this version that is being offered. The kit includes not only the railbus itself, but an enclosed trailer as well. The 3D prints for the railbus and trailer have the same outstanding detail you've come to expect from our previous releases

The kit includes a custom drive mechanism created especially for this project by Toma Model Works. Many of you are familiar with TMW's other products, and this drive will not disappoint. The kit also includes custom decals from Bedlam Creations, who created the lovely decals for our previous releases.

Assembly is straight-forward, but requires some skill with a soldering iron to assemble the pickup feed wiring and constant voltage circuit for the headlights. While the electronics are designed for DC operation, there is room to do a DCC conversion if you're so inclined. As with all RMOM kits, everything you need is included except for paint and adhesives.

Price is $125 each, plus $10 for shipping and handling for US customers. Overseas customers please contact me for shipping cost. Please send the funds via PayPal to [email protected].

The RMOM kit for SR&RL Caboose 553 is now available!

Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes caboose was originally built for the Phillips and Rangeley Railroad in 1906 as caboose number 12 by the Sandy River Railroad using components of a P&R coach which had burned in 1904. It likely was originally built with vacuum brakes and did not have end ladders or roofwalks. When the Sandy River acquired the P&R, it was renumbered to number 3. Under the final consolidation that formed the SR&RL, it was renumbered to 553. Around this time, it was modified with KD air brakes, new platform steps, a roofwalk, and end ladders. It is preserved at the Maine Narrow Gauge Museum in Portland, Maine. This kit represents the late version of the caboose.

The RMOM kit exemplifies what is possible with 3D printing technology and features a one-piece carbody, interior detailing, and underframe brake rigging. It comes complete with trucks, couplers, and decals so there is nothing else for you to purchase aside from paint and adhesive. The car is designed to match NMRA N scale coupler standards with the provided Micro Trains ® couplers.

Price for the RMOM kit of SR&RL 553 is $60 plus $10 shipping and handling within the United States. Customers outside the US should contact RMOM to establish shipping costs on a case-by-case basis.

We are shutting up shop for a bit whilst we move house. I've just packed up the last two deliveries to ship before then.

Hoping to be back up and running in September, at which point we'll go into production for Sn2 versions of the Laconia combine 11 and coach 17/18.

The next HOn30 delivery will be caboose 553. As with the previous releases, it will feature a one-piece carbody, interior details, and underbody detailing, plus trucks, couplers, and decals. There will be two versions - an early one without roofwalks and ladders, and a slightly different end platform, and a late version with those features. Expected price will be $60.
