not sure what I did to make FB says we've had 25 new views, but hey...
I'm here weekdays between 10 & 5 to fix your horns, rent you instruments, sell you accessories or just shoot the breeze.

I will be closed tomorrow Friday 8/13 because downtown is hosting ChalkArt festival https://www.2d4d.org/la-strada/

but it should be a fun weekend in the old downtown Beaverbrug, so when it cools down come and see.

The Beaverton Night Market is canceled Friday, August 13 due to extreme heat forecasted for the Portland metropolitan area. Community members are encouraged to take precaution, stay hydrated and remain cool.

Wednesday April1st, 1987
34 years ago started off like any other day except this time with the help of three private teachers (John, Jeff, and Roger) I opened the doors to Beaverton Music Services (rising from the ashes of the previous store incantation).
I recall having some reeds and strings on the wall and not much else that first day (prolly crossed fingers as well).
The store was located at First and Angel (12690 SW 1st) with lessons in the back. I remember spending a lot of the summer spent learning instrument repair (hands on....thank you Wally's Music guys), teaching high brass, and slowly building a reputation centered around musical customer service.
Couple years later we moved down the block (12630 SW 1st) and spent 30+ years bringing music to kids of all ages. Many employees, teachers, and customers came through in that time, some stayed on for longer than others. I have fond memories well mostly :) ) of the time spent with folks.
After getting through 2020 like many of you, two months ago I moved the store once again down the street (12480 SW 1st) to a much smaller location.
Here is where I find myself again focusing on creating a first class musical customer service center.
But sadly this time without many onsite private teachers (although Jake still does guitar and uke lessons after hours).
I'm going to miss the students coming through for lessons as much as I missed watching young students last September trying out instruments for the start of beginning band.
But hey...34 years doing what God put me here to do can't be a bad thing, right?
Simply put, I'm blessed.
And I'm here for you weekdays (and Saturdays until Memorial day).

Opening an hour or so late on Wednesday March 10th and closed this Saturday March 13th...both due to helping mom with her 93rd Birthday Bowling Bash!

Hey, the power's back on at home!
No more 5 AM rise and shine and leaving the store an hour early to fire up the generator (these last 9 days have really burned me out)
I'm back at it 10 AM Monday...repairs in the shop WILL be done and ready by end of month.

Today the new chapter begins...
Moving was tough enough but trying to find space for everything will be a challenge. I'm open again today, but plan a few extra minutes for us to dig for what you need until we Tetris everything into place
