The Bedford Symphony will perform an evening of classic movie themes titled “A Night at the Movies” at the Bedford High School Auditorium, 330 E. John Street, Bedford, Saturday, October 19th at 7:00 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 for an “Instrument Petting Zoo” where the public will be able to try out musical instruments of all types for themselves before the concert. The group will play themes from Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, James Bond, Rocky, The Addams Family, Pixar, The Pink Panther, Mary Poppins and more.
Tickets are $5.00 for children under 18 and $20.00 for adults and can be purchased online at Eventbrite.com or give.cfalleghenies.org/movies2024 and in person at the Bedford County Library, Soaring Eagle Productions in Bedford, or at the door the night of the show.

Hi Folks!
The B.A.F. will be hosting drawing classes Mon. and Wed. from 6-8 p.m. at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art (S.A.M.A) for the next two weeks, and also an Oil Painting Master Class July 8-12 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m..
The drawing class is for beginners or artists who want to improve their ability to draw realistic images and the oil painting class is designed for every level from intermediate to expert.
The oil painting workshop at S.A.M.A is instructed by expert portraiture artist and former University of Nebraska art professor Geraldine Dobos, a Bedford native. People can register online for the oil painting class at www.sama-art.org/event-details/mater-class. It is $625 for the entire week and requires a deposit of $100.
The basic drawing and painting class will be taught by artist Karen Semanek. Payment will be on a sliding scale fee, although a donation of at least $25 is suggested as proceeds go towards the benefit of the B.A.F.. Students can register online at www.sama-art.org/event-details/semanek1.�

Hey artsy friends, we are looking for a model for an oil painting workshop that Bedford native and Art Professor Geri Dobos will be giving at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Bedford July 8-12 from about 10-4 p.m. every day. The pay is $12 an hour and the model must be able to sit still for a long time and will wear a historical costume for the session. Bedford Symphony Auxiliary Update!!
We are going to have an auxiliary meeting before the upcoming June 8 Classical music concert at the Bedford County Playhouse. The Auxiliary meeting will be on Monday, May 20 (one week from now) at the Zion Lutheran Church in Everett from 6:00 to 7:00 right before the board meeting. We are going to do pretty much the same thing we did the last few times at our vending/donations table at this concert. We will be providing food and beverage from Horn O Plenty and also selling T Shirts and collecting donations again.
If you can't make it to the Auxiliary meeting you can still come and help us at the concert by staffing the table and passing out programs! I'm asking everyone to try to be there by 5:00 p.m. on the day of the concert if they want to help with the Auxiliary.
A big thank you to everyone who has helped with the Auxiliary the past year! You've all been a big part of our support network!!
