The Cutty Sark is a British clipper ship built in 1869 for the Jock Willis Shipping Line. She was one of the last tea clippers to be built and one of the fastest, coming at the end of a long period of design development which halted as sailing ships gave way to steam propulsion. She continued as a cargo ship until purchased by retired sea captain Wilfred Dowman in 1922. He used her as a training ship operating from Falmouth, Cornwall. By 1954, she had ceased to be useful and was transferred to permanent dry dock at Greenwich, London on public display.

The Mayflower was about 90 feet long and 24 feet wide. She weighed a massive 180 tons. In September 1620, a merchant ship called the Mayflower set sail from Plymouth, a port on the southern coast of England. Typically, the Mayflower’s cargo was wine and dry goods, but on this trip the ship carried passengers: 102 of them, all hoping to start a new life on the other side of the Atlantic. Nearly 40 of these passengers were Protestant Separatists–they called themselves “Saints”– who hoped to establish a new church in the New World. Today, we often refer to the colonists who crossed the Atlantic on the Mayflower as “Pilgrims.”

Inspired by the famous cargo ship that brought the original Pilgrim settlers to Plymouth Rock in 1620, this adorable tall ship model rests easily upon any shelf or desk and adds a touch of nautical history to any room’s décor.

USS Constitution is a wooden-hulled, three-masted heavy frigate the US Navy. Named by President George Washington after the Constitution of the United States of America, she is the world's oldest commissioned naval vessel afloat. Launched in 1797, Constitution was one of six original frigates authorized for construction by the Naval Act of 1794 and the third constructed. Joshua Humphreys designed the frigates to be the young Navy's capital ships, and so Constitution and her sisters were larger and more heavily armed and built than standard frigates of the period. Built in Boston, Massachusetts, her first duties with the newly formed United States Navy were to provide protection for American merchant shipping during the Quasi-War with France and to defeat the Barbary pirates in the First Barbary War. Constitution is most famous for her actions during the War of 1812 against Great Britain, when she captured numerous merchant ships and defeated five British warships.

Recreated here, this famed ship model makes an excellent gift to any child or nautical enthusiast. HMS Surprise was 126 feet long on the gun-deck and 31 feet in beam. She was rated at 579 tons. Her main deck was pierced for 24 guns, while the quarter deck carried a further eight to twelve and her forecastle between two and six, all these being of smaller caliber. The guns on the main deck were either nine-pounder long guns or 32-pounder cannonades. HMS Surprise is usually said to have been equipped with an abnormally tall main mast. She was established for a crew of between 200 and 240.

Edward Seegar was born in Ireland at the end of the 17th century. His career as a pirate began while he was working on a sloop as a first mate. During a trip from Jamaica to Providence, the ship was taken by a pirate Captain Christopher Winter. Soon after, he gained pirates confidence and became one of them. He changed his name to Edward England to cover his tracks from the colonial authorities. In 1718, Captain England traded his sloop for a larger vessel, the Pearl. Flying the dreaded skull and bones Jolly Roger, Edward England plundered the African coast and Indian Ocean throughout the early 1700s.

This model ship of the Pearl lets you enjoy the fascinating history of Edward England and his mighty flagship. Place it on your desk or mantel and immerse yourself in true pirate lore.

Designed by Starling, the Enterprise is renowned for its "Park Avenue" boom.
