Your Daily Tarot...
Judgement
Let's get personal here: recently, I was called out on a particularly noxious behavior. Man, that was a hard and bitter pill to gulp down after it lodged in my throat for a few hours. It came from someone who loves me dearly--and knows me truly--and that's why it stunned me and knocked me directly on my nether regions.
It was necessary, and called for--and it was true. That's what hurt the very most. I was being called out and called on to look at a behavior I have fought against my whole life: being a tyrant and a bully, just like my father--crushing the spirit of someone younger to feel superior and correct, just like he used to do to me.
The Judgement card in the tarot is not about The Sky Dad looking down and askance at some perceived misgiving or crap behavior and throwing thunderbolts. It is much, much more about you looking at yourself and how your behavior is hurting or healing others--and yourself. It's about the efforts you've made to conquer your demons, to adhere to The Golden Rule as best you can, and to find peace, somehow, in the unraveling of everything you've held dear as a comfort or a crutch.
The time is at hand for you to peer into your psyche and begin to scratch out into the light the pieces and parts of yourself that are left over from pain, shame, hurt feelings, trauma, anger, and aloneness. It is not pretty and it may surprise you, what you've been holding onto and using.
You'll probably need to throw in a couple of Hail Marys and a few "have mercy on my soul" laments, but you might as well start getting right with Whatever big kahuna(s) you answer to. The only thing you can change in the end is you.
