Working on lawns South of SR 44 means I almost never know how they’re going to respond to my processes. Pulling up to this property in North Deluna approximately 15 days after aerating & topdressing I was relieved to see the ProVista St. Augustine wasn’t dying from fungus given the extremely high humidity paired with late afternoon/evening rainfall.
This grass type is unpredictable except for its negative traits, those are rather predictable.

I may be known to customers as the **“Lawn Whisperer,”** but another role I’ve gradually taken on is serving as a mediator between homeowners and the small businesses that maintain their lawns.
Customers understandably become frustrated when a mowing crew is late, short-staffed, or misses a scheduled visit, but they rarely get to see what is happening behind the scenes. I routinely hear directly from lawn-service owners about the extraordinary challenges of maintaining a dependable workforce—even when offering $20 an hour or more. Sharing examples like these isn’t intended to excuse poor service; it’s meant to provide some perspective on the very real labor challenges facing outdoor-service businesses. Sometimes helping a homeowner understand what their contractor is up against can preserve a relationship with an otherwise hardworking, reputable local business.
