Sadly, tragedies befall our lives and communities all the time. When they do, friends, neighbors and the community rally together to bring love, hope and support to those who are afflicted.

Such is the case in the small rural community of Allensville, a young man was recently injured while in Oregon. His hospital stay will be lengthy and many surgeries are yet to come. Friends are in the process of putting together a raffle to help the family. Barb Akins can be contacted for more information or for you to make a raffle donation 717-247-6819. The donation deadline is August 12.
Here at the store, you will be able to purchase these raffle tickets for the drawings which will take place August 31st. All proceeds will go directly to the family.

This morning is the time to make a trip to the store.....Marlo was restocking the fresh hamburger cooler yesterday afternoon and this morning the bread rack and fresh baked sweets are warm out of the ovens!!!

Fresh Angel Food cakes from the Amish family who use the generational recipe to make their delicious cakes, multi grain sourdough bread and cinnamon rolls from the Mountain Home Bakery and fresh baked bread from Sparrow Eye Bakery. So many choices.....so much goodness!
Stop in and get you some! You'll be glad you did!

We've been kicking an idea around for awhile now and we decided it was time to act on it. We've held several different contests, but in doing so.....we've overlooked some very important people!! So our next contest is for THE CHILDREN!!!

Coming to you and your children.....
the great WHITEHALL CANDY BLOCK CONTEST

We are going to hold a contest, broken into age categories of 5-6, 7-9 and 10-12 year olds. Sign up will be at the store starting today and running till this Saturday. The contest will then run till the 18th of August and all completed projects need to be at the store by that Tuesday closing time.
To enter, please sign up at the store. For a $2.00 entry fee, your child will be given a box of Lego candy, which is to be used as the main portion of the project. More Lego candy may be purchased for bigger projects and other candies that might be needed to complement the project. If need be, glue will be allowed.
Prizes will include:
5-6 year olds.....A giant candy sack of unique candy from the store and a Golden Ticket for a Whitehall Milkshake.
7-9 year olds.....A giant 12 inch cookie and a four pack of
old fashioned glass bottle sodas
10-12 year olds......An engraved Whitehall Tumbler and a Golden Ticket for a 7 " custom hoagie or sandwich.
We are also going to have customers vote on their favorite creation and it will be awarded the Peoples Choice Award.....a Golden Ticket for any size milkshake or ice cream cone.
We are really looking forward to seeing what the kids can come up with and excited that this may become an annual event!!
Be sure to get to the store this week and get your littles signed up to be part of the great WHITEHALL CANDY BLOCK CONTEST!!

It's Thursday and it's almost lunch time........
You know what that means!!

That's right...... Cheeseburger Hoagie is the specialty of the day! That Hoagie is loved by so many......it's a masterpiece of melted American cheese, burger, lettuce, onions, pickles, tomatoes with plenty of special sauce to enhance the great taste even more. The lettuce is locally sourced, the sauce is specially made right here from a family recipe and the burger is the same as we carry in the cooler.
Try out our new kombucha flavor......Peach Mint, it's all the rage!!
