Join Leica Bellevue for an afternoon with photographer and architect Francisco Marín as we present Distilling Architecture, a photographic study of architecture, light, structure, and the quiet rhythm of place.
Mexican-born and Bay Area based, Marín brings an architect’s discipline and a photographer’s sensitivity to the built environment. His work explores how form, shadow, geometry, and human presence shape the way we move through cities and remember them.
What may first appear as a study of buildings becomes something more intimate: an invitation to slow down, observe, and recognize the emotional language within structure.
Introduced to image-making through his father’s love of photography, Marín learned early that the camera is not simply a tool for recording what is in front of us, but a way of paying closer attention to the world around us. That foundation continues through his work today, where architecture becomes more than subject matter. It becomes a framework for seeing.
This exhibition invites guests to experience the city through Marín’s eye: reduced to light, line, perspective, texture, and atmosphere. Through his images, familiar spaces become quieter, more intentional, and more alive.
Guests are invited to meet the artist, view the exhibition, and connect with the Leica Bellevue community for an afternoon centered on photography, craft, and visual storytelling.
Exhibition opening event will be held at Leica Bellevue on Thursday, June 11th from 4:30 - 6:30 PM. Link to RSVP on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/francisco-marin-tickets-1990181441265?aff=oddtdtcreator
