We’re so excited to give you a first look at Grandma’s Table- the experience magazines tucked inside every Day By Day Experience Box. 📦

Designed in-house, each experience has its own edition featuring Megan on the cover. Working with her over the past year and a half- from hosting classes at the shop to now building these Experience Boxes together- has been sooooo much fun. Her passion for cooking from scratch and sharing it with others makes her the perfect person to welcome you into each experience! 🍽️

Inside you’ll find everything you need for your experience: the recipe, grocery list, step-by-step instructions, our favorite drink pairing, a little about the story behind Day By Day, and a special feature introducing Megan and All things Sourdough by Megan

Join Kristin Kilburg for a beginner-friendly breathwork and meditation class. The practice will be a gentle invitation to slow down and settle in. You’ll be guided through simple breathing practices and a calming meditation paired with music—curated to help you feel grounded, present, and at ease. The focus will be on connection—to self, to the natural beauty around us, and to the quiet strength of community. It’s a peaceful way to begin your Morning on the Mississippi before stepping into a day of local shopping, visiting with neighbors, and supporting the women and small businesses that make this community feel like home. 🏠

This session will take place from 8:15am-9:00am in the grassy area directly across the street from Day By Day Mercantile. You do not need to check in at Day By Day Mercantile beforehand!

Optional: Bring a blanket or pillow to sit on, and maybe a journal + pen for jotting down any reflections or inspirations following the practice!

As we continue introducing some new details in regards to our box venture, we thought it would be so fun to do a “Meet the box” post! 📦

Over the past year and a half, we’ve welcomed well over a hundred people around the tables at Day By Day for hands-on cooking experiences with our girl Megan from All things Sourdough by Megan 🥖 Along the way, a few workshops quickly became community favorites. So when it came time to create our very first collection of Day By Day Experience Boxes, the choice was EASY. 👏🏻

We carefully selected four of our most-loved experiences and transformed them into beautifully curated boxes that you can enjoy in your own home- or send as a thoughtful gift to someone you love. 🤍

Each box includes specialty kitchen tools, a beautifully designed recipe magazine, a simple grocery list, a simmer pot, & exclusive video instruction from Chef Megan, so you can create the experience from start to finish with confidence. 💡

🍝The Pasta Experience – Learn to make fresh egg pasta and a traditional ragu sauce from scratch.

🍕The Fun Dinner Experience (Homemade Pizza) – Stretch, top, and bake your own artisan-style pizza.

Last night we kicked off our first 🍽️ Plates for a Purpose Event series: Wings for a Cause! ! We welcomed Birds. Fried Chicken food truck & offered a kids activity in efforts to raise funds for the Friends of Bellevue State Park, Inc..🍂 We are eager to announce that we were able to raise just over $200 to give back to the organization.

Today is the day!

We are honored to support the Friends of Bellevue State Park, Inc., an organization dedicated to protecting & enhancing one of the places that makes our community so unique & special. Through conservation, education, and recreation, they help ensure the park can be enjoyed by generations to come. 🍂

Join us for dinner from Birds. Fried Chicken 4:30–7:30 PM, grab a drink inside Day By Day, & help us create our community eagle mural by decorating an eagle wing with a donation to this organization. 🦅🎨

As we wrap up a weekend full of gathering & celebrating, I thought I’d share a few highlights!

Yesterday, we celebrated a beautiful family wedding we were alllllll three in!

Today was filled with some of our favorite things- a trip to Sweet Boutique for National Ice Cream Day, time spent at the shop getting everything ready for Tuesday’s very first Plates for a Purpose event, & an evening at the Made Whole Worship service filled with music, praise, & (of course) a little more ice cream.🍦

Weekends like these are a reminder that some of life’s best moments happen when we gather together for a common purpose. We’re rounding out the weekend feeling very blessed for good health, community, & a loving family. 🤍

We hope you had a wonderful weekend, too, & we’d love to see you Tuesday as kick off our Wings for a Cause! event. We will be indulging in delicious food from Birds. Fried Chicken & raising funds for Friends of Bellevue State Park, Inc.! 🦅🍽️

Wanted to take an intermission from our Box excitement to put out a gentle reminder that our first 🍽️ Plates for a Purpose event series will take place at the shop on Tuesday!

This edition: Wings for a Cause! … stop by to grab a plate from Birds. Fried Chicken, head inside the shop to grab a drink, & let your kids decorate an eagle wing to help us complete our beautiful mural- participation includes a small donation that supports the Friends of Bellevue State Park, Inc. 🍂

Our Plates for a Purpose is more than dinner… it’s a chance to gather as a community while giving back. Great food, family fun, & the opportunity to support a local cause.. what more can you ask for! We hope you’ll grab a plate, bring some people you love, & make a difference with us!

So most of the experiences in our new Box Experience Collection started as workshops here at the shop before becoming the boxes you’ll soon be able to enjoy at home.

But this oneeeeee?

We knew our “Fun Dinner Experience” 🍕was going to be a favorite before we ever packed the first box!

Last night we hosted a private pizza night filled with homemade dough, good conversation, lots of laughs, and (of course) some pretty incredible pizza. Like some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten.. I didn’t even get a picture of the one I made before scarfing it down. 😅

Moments like these are exactly why we created these fun Day By Day Experience Boxes. We wanted to make it easier to bring this same experience into your own home.
