Let it be known that I was able to unload the dishwasher, finish folding all the laundry that has been sitting in the laundry room for quite some time now, nurse the baby, clean two toilets, SHOWER, play a little ball with kolter, & pack up three of our experience boxes to be shipped out.. all before 3pm with BOTH boys home today!

We even delivered a birthday treat to Kendall in the field & seeing that smile on Kolter’s face when he seen the combine made my entire day. 🤍

This is not a bragging post. This is also not a pity post. I’m hoping this can speak directly to any mom’s in the Postpartum trenches, or maybe to someone who’s dealing with some life changes. It took me a few weeks after having Kallis to realize that you’re allowed to love the life your living, but still need time to adjust to it. New babies, new changes, new chapters.. even some of the changes we prayed for need some time adjusting to. I’m certainly being reminded in this PP season to celebrate the smallest of wins & today has absolutely been worth celebrating in more ways than one. & that not every day looks like today, but it’s important to pick apart the beautiful moments in every day.. even the chaotic ones.

I hope that this hits home to someone scrolling today. & to those that have continued to support me through all of the changes this past month, THANK YOU!

When we are up in the middle of the night nursing, one thing I tend to do is scroll back through old photos & memories. It makes me feel happy & passes the time so quickly.. I stumbled accross this video that I filmed in October of 2024. Oh.. where has time gone & where did my baby go?!

But it had me thinking about how much I love October & when Fall really starts to kick in. Crisp mornings & open windows.. earlier sunsets making slowing down feel like something you are actually supposed to do.

I know you’ve been seeing a lot more box content around here lately, & you’ll probably be seeing quite a bit more as we step into this next chapter of Day By Day.

But one thing I got thinking about, this video ties into the boxes more than you might think. The heart behind them isn’t just about making homemade pasta or pizza or pie. It’s about slowing down long enough to enjoy where you are & who you’re with. Putting the phones down for a bit. Doing something together. Making an ordinary night feel a little more special. Just like this one 🤍

That’s what I hope these boxes create a little more room for. And maybe that’s why this next chapter feels like it makes so much sense.

We are packing up a Pop-Tart Experience today! This order added a children’s apron + children’s rolling pin, which I LOVE because this is probably our best box to do with kiddos.

We hosted several Pop-Tart workshops at the shop with kids and they always had so much fun with them. There’s plenty for little hands to help with - rolling out the dough, adding the filling, crimping the edges and decorating them at the end.

If you’re looking for a gift for a kiddo.. a mama, or something fun to do together at home, definitely don’t overlook this one! The children’s apron and rolling pin can also be added on to make it their own!

Today was supposed to be an “about me” post highlighting some of the inspiration behind the boxes.. but this seems more fitting for today.

It’s honestly a little hard to find the words to even write this post.. but I really want to try to find the words. Today, we handed over our keys for the shop & it was honestly a lot harder than I expected it to be. It took the first half of my pregnancy to come to terms with the fact that while I can do a lot - I can’t continue to run the shop, work full time, be a supportive wife, & present in the way I want to be for my boys.. not right now. But.. eventually, I came to peace with the decision of not resigning my lease. I know that success looks different in different seasons of life. Over a lot of reflection & prayer, I had more & more clarity on my decision with time. I started to lose that feeling of failure & embrace the feelings of being proud for having so much positive impact in my community in such a short amount of time.

& while I am extremely excited for this next chapter in life - getting to spend more time with my boys, more time at home & not being so rushed all the time. There is a little piece of my heart that feels like I am leaving behind. I poured so much love into this place. It was a place I always felt so close to my grandma. All of the sacrifices made the past two years, I knew were to put a smile on someone else’s face.. Whether it was an event supporting a cause or simply bringing people together in the community.. I hope I never forget some of the memories we made here the last two years. I loved creating this warm, welcoming space & using my creativity to do good things.

I can’t thank you enough for supporting me & simply giving me a chance. I would love for you to continue following along with all of our shennanigans, but really for now, I just want to say thank you. Now time to close this chapter, & welcome the next with empathy, understanding, & open arms.🤍

MEET ONE OF THE MAKERS 💡

If you’ve taken a cooking class at Day By Day over the last couple of years, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve met this familiar face. 🤍

Meet Megan — the talent behind All Things Sourdough by Megan and a vital part of bringing our first round of Day By Day Experience Boxes to life!

Megan’s love for cooking has even taken her all the way to Italy, where she had the opportunity to learn under a chef - and lucky for us, she’s brought that love of good food, learning and gathering right back home.

Over the last couple of years, Megan and I have hosted so many classes together at the shop. Pasta, pizza, Pop-Tarts, pies… lots of flour on the tables, lots of laughs, and so many people gathered together learning something new.

When we started thinking about what Day By Day could look like outside of the four walls of the shop, it just made sense to take some of those experiences we loved so much and fit them into a box. 📦

Megan helped develop the recipes inside our Experience Box collection and guides you through them in the cooking videos you’ll access right from your box. It’s our way of bringing a little piece of those Day By Day workshops right into your own kitchen.

And outside of the kitchen, Megan is a wife to Shawn, mama to two sweet boys, Brantley & Brody, and has two fur babies at home, too. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, she has also grown her side hustle, All things Sourdough by Megan into something pretty special!

Last Wednesday evening, we hosted our very last workshop at the shopppp. 🥹🍕

About a month ago, I received a message from someone whose foreign exchange student from Spain was coming back to visit after FOUR years. While she was here, one of the things they wanted to do together was come to Day By Day and make homemade pizza.

The fact that they chose to spend some of their time back together with us meant so much to me - and knowing it would be our last workshop at the storefront made this one feel extra special!

It was never just about the food we were making. It’s always been about slowing down. Gathering around a table. Learning something together. Laughing. Making a mess. And leaving with a fun memory!

And THAT is what we’re putting into a box. 🏠

If you haven’t heard me talk about them in awhile, our Day By Day Experience Boxes are essentially one of our workshops — brought right into your own kitchen.

Each box includes the tools you need, a recipe magazine, grocery list and a QR code that takes you to a guided cooking class so you can follow along with us FROM HOME! These are the perfect unique gift you’ve been searching for for literally any occasion. 🎂🎄🥂

Our first collection includes Homemade Pasta, Pizza, Pop-Tarts and Pie & these will be a available for shipping or local pick up OCTOBER 1. We will be sharing more details with you on our fun boxes as we approach the rollout date! 📦

The shop chapter may be coming to an end, but there is so much more goodness to come. 🤍
