June is PTSD Awareness Month — and it matters more than many realize.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can affect anyone. It’s not a sign of weakness, and it’s not something people can simply “get over.” Healing takes time, support, and understanding — and every one of us can help reduce the stigma that keeps so many silent.

How you can make a difference:
• Listen without judgment when someone shares
• Avoid minimizing or dismissive language
• Learn the signs of trauma and how it can show up in daily life
• Encourage loved ones to seek support when they’re ready
• Remind others that recovery is possible, and no one has to face it alone

When we replace stigma with compassion, we create space for real healing.
