More new books!

Hi Folks,

So I finally got around to listing all the new books I bought recently in my eBay store. A large number of WWII volumes this month, with some quite interesting books. BTW, if you want to focus on a particular historical period, my store has a sub-index that you can click on for books about the period in question, anywhere from Ancient Greece to the recent Gulf Wars. WWII tends to predominate numerically in the store, partly because there are just so many books available about that conflict, with others still being published regularly. It's always interesting to see more recent analyses of that period, even if most of the people capable of providing first hand accounts are no longer with us.

I also wanted to remind you once more that you, as the customer, can combine multiple book purchases, so that I can issue you with a single invoice reflecting combined shipping prior to payment. You can save a bundle on shipping by doing this. Several of you have actually mastered the process, and it is always a considerable load off my work to just have to deal with one invoice rather than four, or more. What you do is to add each book to your "cart" during the order process, and then when you have finished selecting them, send me a message requesting a combined invoice. That way I can adjust the amount for the combined shipping, and send you a final invoice so that you don't have to pay more than once. I realize some of you have had difficulty with this particular function of eBay, but believe me, it does work, and saves a lot of time and effort. The alternative is to just pay for each item in full, and I will add everything up and refund you the surplus postage before I ship, which amounts to the same thing but is a lot more work for both of us. Whichever is easiest for you, however.

My usual request - when you get this newsletter, please share it with your friends and acquaintances. I am working off an email list which is steadily shrinking with the passing of time, and I can no longer add customers' email addresses to it from eBay unless they request it. So please pass this around as much as possible, and have people email me directly at [email protected] if they want to be added to the list. Thank you in advance.

So, without further ado, here is the list of new books. Please refer to the actual store listing for a more detailed synopsis of each book, written by yours truly....

Hi Folks,

Attached below is my latest listings of new books in my eBay Store. I have a lot more to add, but will do this as an update mid-month. Four of the books below are from the library of a friend of mine, and are quite rare - "Flush Decks and Four Stacks", "Aircraft of World War I", "The Kaiser's Army" and "The Army of Francis Joseph", which may be familiar to those of you with an interest in those areas, but which can be quite hard to find online. As a result, they are priced higher than my normal offerings, but if you check them out on Bookfinder.com, you'll see that even these prices are bargains. The bulk of the other books are World War II volumes, which are still very popular these days and.indeed, are still being published continually as new perspectives on the conflict open up.

I also wanted to remind you how you, as the customer, can combine multiple book purchases, so that I can issue you with a single invoice reflecting combined shipping prior to payment. Several of you have actually mastered this process, and it is always a considerable load off my work to just have to deal with one invoice rather than four, or more. Revised new book listings for May:

Hi Folks,

Just a quick update to my "New Listings" for May, taking off books that have been sold, and adding a bunch of new listings, mostly WWII books. Charles Whitings books about the Battle of the Bulge make excellent reading, in particular.

I also wanted to repeat how you, as the customer, can combine multiple book purchases, like the sets above, so that I can issue you with a single invoice reflecting combined shipping prior to payment. One of you actually did this last week, and it was a considerable load off my work to just have to deal with one invoice rather than four. My latest newsletter and new book listings:

Hi Folks,

Greetings from a flowering North West, where the Azaleas are currently out in force, and the rhodedendrons not far behind. The wife and I are gradually coming out of the haze of our European trip to Holland, Belgium and Denmark, and the 7 hour time difference that happens when you head that far East. We had a lovely time, cruising the rivers and canals of Holland and Belgium, and thoroughly enjoyed our walking tours of Copenhagen, a city that we hadn't been in for over 55 years (yes, I am that old!). Anyway, it was good to get home and try and get into the groove again.

I have two sets of books for your attention right now, with another dozen singletons in the offing. The first set is books 19-20 of the Jack Aubrey/Stephen Maturin maritime novels written by Patrick O'Brian in the late 1900s. One of my favorite authors, other than C.S. Forester, of course! The second set is six books by Canadian writer and historian Mark Zuelhke that I happened across at our local Library Book Store just before we left on our trip, and which cover the exploits of the Canadian divisions that were part of the Allied invasion of the European continent starting with Sicily in 1943, and continuing into Italy and then NW Europe during and after the D-Day landings in June,1944. The Canadians were right in the thick of things both in Italy and the Low Countries for two years, and fought extremely well in some trying circumstances, particularly the breaching of the German Gothic Line in Italy, which is the subject of one of the books. Three of the Zuelkhe books cover the D-Day landings on Juno Beach and their aftermath, and are best read as a set, for continuity's sake. I have made a note on this in the list below.

What you do is to add all the books to your cart, and then when you have finished selecting them, send me a message from the cart page requesting a combined invoice. That way I can adjust for combined shipping, and send you a final invoice so that you don't have to pay more than once. Whichever is easiest for you.

More new book listings!

Hi Folks,

Spring has finally hit here in the PNW, and the last few days have been in the 60s with lots of sun, and a slight breeze. Mount Baker looks resplendent at this time of year, with a full snow covering for most of its almost 10,000 feet, and the gardens are starting to sprout quickly. Last week it was flowering cherry trees, this week it seems to be dandelions, which actually look quite picturesque against the dark green grass,

I only have a few books for you this month, but several of them are quite old, i.e. late 1900s, and they include a very early printing of the memoirs of Albert Speer, Hi**er's close confidant and architect of the N**i war economy. For some reason Speer survived Nuremberg, and wrote his memoirs while serving his prison sentence, one of the few members of the N**i hierarchy to have the luxury of doing that. Several of the other books are quite old and interesting also.

Another thing I wanted to repeat was how you, as the customer, can combine multiple book purchases, so that I can issue you with a single invoice reflecting combined shipping prior to payment. One of you actually did this last week, and it was a considerable load off my work to just have to deal with one invoice rather than four. What you do is to add all the books to your cart, and then when you have finished selecting them, send me a message from the cart page requesting a combined invoice. That way I can adjust for combined shipping, and send you a final invoice so that you don't have to pay more than once. Whichever is easiest for you.

One final administrative note - the wife and I are going to venture over to Europe for a couple of weeks, so the store will be closing on Sunday, April 12, for two weeks. So please get your orders in before then so that I can mail them before we leave.

So, without further ado, here is the updated list of new books. Please refer to the actual store listing for a more detailed synopsis of each book, written by yours truly....
