“Augustus Saint-Gaudens, considered one of the greatest sculptors of his era, introduced a new standard of art in United States coins evidenced by his eagle and double eagle types of 1907. The obverse of the $10 gold eagle shows the head of Liberty crowned with an Indian war bonnet while a majestic eagle dominates the reverse. Instead of a reeded edge, raised stars representing the states of the Union adorn the edge of the coin.” I have five $10 Indian Head gold eagle coins at the shop. Come in and check them out today. Each sells for $50 over melt at the time of purchase.

Produced in 1899, the Black Eagle one dollar silver certificate is one of the most iconic pieces of U.S. currency. It is famous for being the only U.S. note to ever feature two different presidents on the same side. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln on the left and Ulysses S. Grant on the right. They sit beneath a majestic bald eagle with wings spread, perched on the Stars and Stripes with the U.S. Capitol building in the background. This “horse blanket” note is considerably larger than modern currency. There are a couple available at the shop. Come on in.

I have an 1877 Indian Head cent in the shop. It is graded VF 30 BN by NGC. It has a mintage of 852,500. Come and check it out. Price is $1550. This coin is sold now. Thank you for checking it out.

The Indian Head was first minted in 1859 and is “actually a representation of Liberty wearing an Indian headdress, not an actual Native American. The first year featured a laurel wreath on the reverse. This was changed after one year to the oak wreath with a small shield” adorning the top of the wreath.

On July 24th, 2025 the spot price of silver was $39 an ounce and the spot price of gold was $3361. I made a post saying, who knows where silver will be in a year. Less than 8 months later, we are setting at over $80 an ounce for silver and over $5000 an ounce for gold (and that wasn’t even the high for either). Any predictions on what will happen this year with the price of gold and silver?
