We're nuts for hazelnuts!
Every batch of Holm Made Toffee includes a generous amount of this delish Oregon-grown treat.
Most traditional toffees use almonds. But we believe in supporting local and sourcing local as much as we possibly can. So...when Donna Holm moved to Oregon in the early 90's hazelnuts became the name of the game!
Did you know:
๐ฐ Oregon produces over 99% of the United States' commercial hazelnut supply.
๐ฐ Designated as the state nut in 1989, the Willamette Valley acreage makes hazelnuts the #1 planted fruit or nut crop in Oregon.
๐ฐ Hazelnut trees can produce until over 100 years of age.
๐ฐ Also known as 'Filberts", trees were likely first introduced into Oregon by early French settlers.
Are you team 'filbert' or team 'hazelnut?
