Dancing into the weekend! ✨
Our youngest Rosie just got glasses, and she’s literally twirling with delight. It was a long 4-5 months of trying to figure out what was going on with her after daily headaches and unexplained discomfort. We finally found the culprit, her vision! Now she can see clearly for probably the first time, and her headaches and pain are gone🥹😭.

Just your little reminder that you know your kids best and you are the best advocate for them🫶🏼

A whole slow Saturday inside a chapter your kids already love. This is what we built Arbor House for!

🍎 Little Country Club is BACK for fall!! 🍂

And this one might be my favorite yet. 😭

Introducing… A Farmer Boy Fall at Arbor House.

An old-fashioned autumn afternoon inspired by Farmer Boy and the kind of childhood that feels increasingly rare - where the entertainment is making things with your hands, exploring outside, caring for animals, listening to a good story, and eating warm bread slathered in homemade butter.

Basically… we’re stepping into a storybook for the afternoon. 🥹🤎

Think pumpkins piled around the farm, plaid blankets on the grass, golden September light, nature exploring, old-fashioned handcrafts, farm animals, storytime with local author anahy🕊️, cider, and warm cinnamon sourdough from with homemade butter YOUR kids will make. 🍞

And we’ll finish the afternoon gathered around the fire. 🔥

This time, Little Country Club is family-style! Bring the kids and stay awhile - we want the whole family to experience it together.

Yesterday I was pouring my heart out to my therapist about how I put these unrealistic expectations on myself to manage my home perfectly (anyone else deal with perfectionism?).

She gently reminded me that I have a neurodivergent household, 5 children…4 of which are homeschooling and making constant messes, and that as much as I could compare myself to other mothers who have kids in school full time or who don’t have disabled children, I have my own beautiful messy life and chose to all be home together for its benefits, closeness, to give them a better early childhood than what I had, and to continue on the work that my mom started when she started homeschooling me in my grade school years.

It’s not about keeping up. It’s truly about keeping them close. Relationship over tasks. Care over comparison.

And not giving a flying fig about what anyone thinks…still working on that one 😌.
