Our Needle Felting for Beginners class with Carolyn Appenzeller returns for an encore on Saturday, June 20 after a full class and wonderful feedback from students.

In this beginner-friendly Make & Take, you’ll learn the basics of needle felting and create an adorable wool bird to take home. Carolyn is a customer favorite for good reason. Students described her as “Clear, patient, charming!” and loved that the project was approachable, hands-on, and actually doable in class.

This small-group class also includes a $25 take-home supply kit with felting pad, needles, scissors, and wool, so students can keep creating after class.

Join Amaranta Colindres for Make & Take - Junior Studio: Floral Unicorn with Ama, a fun, family-friendly painting class where students will create a whimsical unicorn painting on an 11 x 17 canvas.

This beginner-friendly class is perfect for kids, families, and first-time painters. Ama will guide students step by step while introducing simple color mixing, basic brush strokes, and painting with shapes, so everyone can enjoy the process and leave with a finished piece they’ll be excited to hang up at home.

THANK YOU, BENICIA 💛🎨

Saturday’s Benicia Art Festival, sponsored by the Benicia Art Gallery Alliance, was simply phenomenal.

We had a record day at The Little Art Shop and Studio with over 650 visitors, amazing art sales, and so many wonderful conversations with people who came out to support local Benicia artists.

A huge thank you to everyone who walked through our doors, brought friends, purchased original art, cheered on our artists, and made the day feel so full of life.

Many of our 35+ artists were here meeting visitors, sharing their work, and helping make the gallery and studio feel exactly how we hoped they would: welcoming, creative, and full of connection.

Special thanks to:

🔥 Matt Greentree for demonstrating glass lampwork and creating the coolest little octopus right before our eyes
