BEDLAM FAMILY

It all began five years ago to the day.

Take a look at what I walked into and decided had potential. In reflection, I think I was a bit crazy.

My goal was to buy an historic building and repurpose it. The building is from 1920 and had sat vacant for five years prior to the closing.

The building has been an Auto Body Shop, Doctor's Office, Computer Repair, Church, and Pie Factory.

I had an idea at the time what I wanted to shop to be. However, the vision and culture naturally evolved and has continued to evolve every day for five years now.

The vision is to be focused around offering the best product, best product knowledge, and best customer service that we can muster. The culture is to provide a welcoming environment and be "part of the journey."

There are so many of you that have made the shop what it is to today. That is something we appreciate beyond words.

Here's to the next five years!

BEDLAM FAMILY

We are humbled quite often, but when customers support us to the Nth degree, it is beyond humbling.

Supporting those who support us was one of our founding principles. However, that has invaded our marrow and become part of the “DNA” of Bedlam over our first four years in operation.

With that said, we have decided to start a CUSTOMER OF THE MONTH program. This entails a private parking spot and a brushed aluminum sign that the customer can take home and use to adorn their she cave or man shed after their "Month of Fame". It also includes a small token of appreciation most likely in the form of a “gag” gift as we know these folks extremely well!

Without further ado, please meet our inaugural Customer of the Month! Dr. Kent Lancaster!! Kent has supported us since Day One at Bedlam. He has placed trust in us that goes beyond words. We try to live up to that trust every day.

The most difficult part of this program is choosing which family member we choose each month. We have a host of customers in line and will be randomly selecting them for several months to come.

Also pictured are Ollie and Leo. They are the inspiration behind me getting my little Cavapoo Queen Elsie Merckx.

This year we are offering two Bella & Canvas T Shirts which are very soft and comfortable.

This year's official Bedlam Kit is the Primal Omni Ultimate. The kits arrived the day we left for France. I wore the kit for the first time on a long challenge ride. That is usually a recipe for disaster. However, I forgot I was wearing a new kit which is the best review I could give!

Last but not least. We have SPF 50+ hoodies for the Après Ride Drink we are all so fond of.

Greetings from France.................again!

BANG!

This is our second of two brand announcements this week.

And back to back stage wins for the two brands. Yesterday the honors went to VAN RYSEL so that leaves COLNAGO.

We are humbled to carry this historic and incredible brand. Colnago is a brand with incredible people who know their stuff and want the best for their customers. I am sure you will all get a chance to meet Chris with Colnago sooner than later.

Below you will see the first Colnago bike we have sold (thank you Chris!). The bike is a Tadej Pogacar Tour De France replica bike. The attention to the attention to aesthetic is second only to the attention to detail that goes into building each Colnago in their home country of Italy.

****UPDATE****

We hinted at two brand announcements this week.

Well, what better way to announce it than by saying it won today's stage of the Tour de France.

The official bike of the Decathlon UCI cycling team is Van Rysel. A LEGIT brand that is known for manufacturing rockets in their home country of France. And what you get for the money???? Just check them out!

Despite being delayed for three days we have arrived in France! Without bags or bikes....until today!

This is the Chalet we are staying in overlooking the town of Argeles-Gazost in the Pyrenees. Argeles-Gazost is a cycling mecca! The bases of eight HC climbs are less than 10k from our doorstep.

There is also a heat dome that has nicely settled in for this week.

There will be two bike brand announcements this week! We have been saving that for this week!

One has already won a stage and the other most likely will!

BEDLAM FAMILY

We will be closed tomorrow, Saturday the 20th of June.

In our never-ending journey of supporting the community, we will be taking that support to the Dirty Donut Race tomorrow as well as four other Michigan Gravel Race Series events this year.

We will be open normal hours today (10am-5pm), and Sunday (8am-2pm).

We hope to see you tomorrow at one of Michigan's premier Gravel Races.

Our next tour dates will be Uncle John's Gravel Race on September 7th and then the Lowell Classic Gravel Road Race on October 25th.

What better way to make a new brand announcement than by introducing our 51st Custom Build?

We get excited about every Custom Build we do. However, this one took it to eleven. Why? Because eleven is more than 10.

Thomson Bike Components is known for making extremely high-quality parts and components. Their product is legendary among seasoned riders. The company started as an Aerospace company and evolved into a three-generation family run entity.

This is a first. We are announcing two Custom Builds at the same time. Why? The same amazing customer commissioned us to build two World Class bikes and a budget that left no stone unturned.

Six months. That is how long we spent on these bikes. Why? We were waiting for a new groupset to be released. We also spent 90 days waiting for a certain set of tires. We spent hours and hours researching Scientific data and analytics. Half of which is wading through and eliminating the bulls**t Marketing Analytics which is NOT a way to buy a bike or any part that goes on a bike.

BUILD ONE

This is a custom build that has just blown our minds here at Bedlam.

Absolutely every aspect of this bike is top of the line, and every piece of the bicycle was meant to accommodate and accentuate a very f*ing fast rider. We had to make this insanely aerodynamic bike even more aero while keeping the weight as low as possible. How can you do this and run 60mm deep wheels you ask? Keep reading. Move over Paris Roubaix. The first Spring Classic in Michigan is today in Vandalia, MI.

Our team will be at the race all day helping everyone have an amazing day.

It seems like everyone will be there, so I hope any inconveniences are limited.
