This Fall, we’re collecting donations of handmade hats, scarves, shawls, and lap blankets for the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic. All items must be completed, gently-used or un-used, and cleaned with unscented products.

Through Thursday, November 19th, drop off your clean, finished items at the shop to support low-income, under-served, and immigrant women receiving cancer care at CMC.

Don’t have time to make something? That’s ok! Stop by the shop or visit charlottemaxwell.org to learn about more ways you can support this wonderful organization.

Donations will be delivered and distributed on Friday, November 20th. Link in bio for more information.

The wool for this yarn is sourced entirely from Merino sheep raised along the traditional shepherding routes of the Cañada Real Conquense. Transhumance connects seasons, landscapes and history through the royal drove roads, ancient paths that preserve the essence of this sustainable grazing system.

This stunning 2-ply, woolen-spun yarn is lovely to work with and would make a perfect light layering piece for Fall 🍂 🍁 🍃

We are looking for local knitters who want to participate in an in-person test knit for this unnamed capelet by Maia Discoe.

The sample is made with a fi*****ng weight yarn held with a lace weight mohair yarn, but it could also be made with a DK weight yarn.

Feedback will be due by November 1st. This is a bit of a tight timeline as the pattern will launch on November 7th during our 10th Anniversary Celebration.

Time: TBD, there is a poll in the Google Form

Sizes 1(2, 3, 4) to fit chest size: 32/36(40/44, 48/52, 56/60) inches, 81/91(101/112, 122/132, 142/152) cm
Sample shown in Size 1

Yarns: any fi*****ng weight yarn held with a lace weight fuzzy yarn OR a DK weight yarn. The sample is made with Biches et Bûches Le Petit Lambswool in the color Dark Brown held with Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair in the color Deep Petroleum Blue.

A shop discount will be offered to participants purchasing yarn for the test.

This just in! We are excited to announce we now carry two delicious yarns from Jill Draper Makes Stuff: Kingston & Amalgam!

Kingston is a DK weight, dyed-in-the-wool tweed, that’s bursting with color! Made from Targhee will from the Finger Lakes Region of New York State, it’s round and bouncy, great for cables or colorwork.

Amalgam is made to be a natural colored sibling to Kingston. Boasting the same 3-ply construction and DK weight, these two yarns pair beautifully together!

In all the hubbub of the crawl we never got to spotlight one of our newer arrivals! ✨

Mota by is 100% Spanish Wool — 50% Manchega & 50% Merino. This yarn was developed with the goal of supporting local Spanish ranchers by using sheep breeds native to Spain, with the Manchega sheep’s wool usually deemed waste-wool as these sheep typically are raised for their milk. By blending it with soft merino, the result is a lofty 3-ply, Z-twist yarn, that’s got that dry, bouncy feel. Mota is rustic, but soft, and perfect for showing off textured stitches in sweaters, vests, or accessories 🧶

We may be a bit biased, but will always be a shop favorite. A former staff member, Kacey started dyeing yarn in our back room! We love her beautiful color combinations that pair perfectly with her stunning patterns ♥️
