Let’s Talk About Sage
We have people come in looking for sage all the time, and I always want you to understand what you’re buying and why people use it — not just grab a bundle because you saw it online.
Burning sage has a long history of traditional and ceremonial use. Today, many people also burn it simply because they enjoy the aroma or use the practice as part of creating a calm, intentional atmosphere in their home.
You may have also seen claims that burning sage “kills 94% of bacteria.” Here’s the interesting part: there is research behind that number, but the study wasn’t testing sage by itself. Researchers used smoke from wood combined with a mixture of medicinal herbs and reported a more than 94% reduction in airborne bacterial counts after an hour.
So while that research is fascinating, we don’t want to tell you that lighting a sage bundle automatically disinfects your house. 🌿
What we can say is that plants and herbs have been used in traditional wellness practices for generations, and we love learning more about the history and research behind them.
If you’ve ever wondered how to use sage, why people burn it, or which bundle might be right for you, ask us when you stop in. We’re always happy to help you learn before you buy. 💚
