Hi! My name is Deidre, and I am the owner and creator of The Dandelion Farm & Relaxation Spa.
If you’ve ever stopped in the shop, chances are you’ve seen me around with a coffee in one hand, a goat bottle in the other, and about 37 unfinished projects swirling around in my head! 😂
A little about me…
🐐 I have a serious goat addiction. In fact, that’s really how this whole adventure started! Years ago, I began making soap and quickly realized something important… if I used my own goat milk in the soap, I could justify having more goats. Then I needed more milk, which meant more goats. Then more soap… which somehow led to even more goats. Looking back, I’m pretty sure the goats were running the business plan all along. 😆
🧼 What started as a hobby making soap at home grew into a business that now serves customers from all over. I’m incredibly proud that our goat milk comes right from our family farm, where we milk our herd twice a day.
👩⚕️ Before becoming a full-time business owner, I worked in healthcare as a nurse. Helping people has always been a passion of mine, whether it’s through healthcare, self-care, or simply creating products that make people feel good.
🌱 I love creating products from ingredients we raise, grow, or source locally whenever possible. Knowing where your products come from matters to me.
🎢 I am a huge Disney fan and firmly believe everyone needs a little magic, adventure, and a good snack in their life.
🐴 When I’m not at the shop, you’ll find me on the farm with our goats, horses, emus, and whatever other animals have somehow found their way home with us. My husband Shannon has learned that “I’m just going to look” usually means we’re bringing something home.
👩👧👦 My kids, Ashlyn, Mollie, and Owen, have grown up alongside this business and farm, helping with everything from farmers markets and 4-H projects to bottle babies and soap labels.
❤️ One thing many people may not know is that The Dandelion Farm was built from a dream, a whole lot of determination, and plenty of moments where quitting would have been easier. We’ve celebrated incredible successes, survived a building fire, rebuilt, and continued growing because of the amazing support from our community.
At the end of the day, my favorite part isn’t the goats, the soap, or even the spa services—it’s the people. The friendships, conversations, and connections we’ve made over the years are what make this journey so special.
Thank you for supporting this crazy dream that started with a few goats and a bar of soap. Because of all of you, I can continue feeding my goat addiction… I mean, growing my business. 😉🐐
