In the final weeks of this pregnancy - baby girl will be here soon! Ready to rest a lot + make lots of artwork until she arrives. Ryan has treated me to a lovely birthday staycation filled with all the best treats 😍 couldn’t do all this without the generosity of my parents who are in grandkid camp mode! So blessed + grateful. ✨perilla✨ + how to identify it

If you are in Tennessee, you may have this annual herb growing in abundance! Don’t discard it, save it for teas, salads or if you’re an expect, tinctures!

Perilla starts small with serrated mint-like leaves, then shoots up tall with a sturdy stalk, the leaves multiplying quickly along the stem. Under their leaves is a brownish purple hue + when you stick your face near them, you can smell the unmistakable mint, yet basil, yet licorice aromas!

Cut, wash + enjoy in a salad or smoothie OR
Cut + dry for tea in the winter when you + your family has the case of the congestion that’s hard to beat!
