Finished this today. Again, I know it isn't perfect, but I'm getting there. ❤️ I find that my hand strength is not up to par for the finer smoothing of the edges. That will come with time and patience...

Well, it was a process for sure, but fun practicing! Picked this rock up in the orchard out back. Cut, sliced, polished, then wrapped in copper! No, it isnt "perfect" but that's why we call it practice! ❤️

Ya know how I say you learn something new every day? Well, here is what Rick and I did today! Poor Ken Schug, silversmith - Down to Earth Designs learned that I don't listen very well, and had to help me a little more than planned. But, hey, I'm learning! 😆 if you are interested in taking one of his classes, I highly recommend it!

On today's episode of what's Bonnie playing with today? Well, short answer...Slag! More specifically Bay Furnace Slag. If you are not familiar with Bay Furnace, you should be. Just west of Munising in a little town of Christmas, you will find the beaches FULL of this stuff! An old furnace deposited their industrial waste into the cold water of Lake Superior and created these beauties! Just like everyone's favorite Leland Blue, the ones from Bay Furnace come in an assortment of colors. Black, green, blues and purples, most with this swirly pattern. I'll break out some other colors later this week, so stay tuned for that! Hope you enjoyed my latest project! I look forward to turning these into some beautiful jewelry here soon!

Found this rock out in the orchard on a walk. Thought it looked pretty cool. Why not chop it up and see what I can do with it. I added a Petoskey midway as it was just sitting there. I'm not dissapointed!

Made some simpler Michigan's this week. I thought maybe the simpler the better... These are thinner so the yooperlites shine bright under the black light! The pictures don't do them justice! But please, be honest, what do you think?!?

Working on a few new projects this week! Check out my "Pebble Tray"! All of those little rocks were collected from the shore of Lake Superior, near Grand Marais. I have a few more things brewing on the back burner, but waiting for resin to cure is like watching paint dry! 😅
