Dermaplaning is more than removing peach fuzz. ✨ It’s a precise exfoliation treatment designed to remove dead, dry surface cells while creating a smoother, brighter-looking complexion.

That’s why I perform traditional dermaplaning on clean, completely dry, oil-free skin.

Applying facial oil beforehand creates too much slip and can reduce the controlled contact I want between the blade and the skin. Proper preparation, blade angle, skin tension and technique all matter when the goal is true exfoliation, not simply shaving the face.

There is a separate professional technique called “oilplaning” that may be appropriate for certain dry or sensitive skin types, but it is not the same protocol as traditional dermaplaning.
