Some old favorites and some new classes! Be sure to check them out and get yourself signed up!

Those recycled paper paintings, SO FUN. We mix color into paper pulp and press the “paint” onto a canvas. It’s messy, but delightful! When the paper pulp dries, it becomes a hard, textured artwork.

Art-a-la-Cart is something new I’m trying this month! With school starting, it was too challenging to find a good time for art club, so we’ll just open up the studio for a few hours for anyone that wants to come and explore.

Come paint a cornfield during Cornfest weekend! You’ll learn so new techniques in this guided painting, and use lots of layers to help build depth.

I *think* she’s done… time to sit with her a couple of days and decide if there are any areas that need improving… I added the color over the weekend, wasn’t happy with it, then added some colored pencil… I’m happy with it, but I know there are areas I could have done differently/better.

Gave myself permission to work on this over the weekend. It’s tough, I technically run 2 different businesses (Moon & Back Art Studios and Big Stone Commons), and it’s so tempting to reply right away to each message, stop and do that one extra little thing, work on this, then that…. On weekends, I’m trying very hard to enjoy some forced relaxation and art time. It’s kind of working. 😆

Do you remember how I had a creative creatures class with alcohol markers a few weeks ago? Here was mine. 😆 Part squirrel, dog maybe, and who knows what else! I just started drawing random body parts. And like I told the crew: because it’s not real, there was no way for it to be wrong. 😉 Go ahead and make mistakes, no one else knows. ❤️

Off to a rather nice start, I think. 😊

I was able to put a few scattered minutes in on this today between dealing with ornery kids. We had one of those days where I took away their iPads and phones, which then ends up being just as much of a punishment for me. 😑

Attempting some silly portraits with some new art supplies! Swipe through to see how my practice pieces have evolved over the last couple of days (they go backwards, so the last photo is my first drawing). I’m improving! 😆

My goal with these is to possibly add them as an option to my Doodle Booth. They’re not as quick as a simple Sharpie drawing and they’re definitely not realistic- but they offer a resemblance that has so far been quite comical. I’ll share more of my favorites soon and see if you can guess who they are!

The new tools: Caran D’Ache Neocolor II Aquarelle. The fanciest (and most expensive) crayons I’ve ever owned. 😂 But my, am I having fun with them!
