You all need to know this...
The Chronicles of His Ministries: We Need Your Help!
The VAN: As many of you know, I was fundraising for a newer van. We know for sure; the engine is failing. The coolant is leaking into the engine and being burned off, which causes it to run hot when the coolant gets low. At this point, all we can do is keep adding antifreeze, drive very short distances, and occasionally borrow a vehicle when we need one.
The good news is that we can have most of our supplies delivered, which helps simplify things while we wait for God to provide the donations needed to purchase a dependable ministry van. The van is a vital part of our mission. We drive to and from events-when we have youth volunteers, many times we may have to pick them up or take them home, the same is with volunteers and interns, and we load and haul donations. We have community projects as well, that we attend. Estimated cost for a newer van is $12,000.
The ROOF: The roof I’m talking about is our rental building, Modern Barber Shop’s roof. It’s a flat roof that we have sealed yearly. Over the past few months, heavy rains have taken its toll on this roof. As a result, we'll be replacing the roof to prevent further damage and keep the building in good condition for years to come. Our old way of repair is not working. The rent on this building is an income for His Ministries, but by no means will it cover the expenses for replacing the roof. I have someone coming by to give us an estimated cost of replacing the roof.
This roof is an urgent need and takes first priority of fundraising.
The THIEF: Blake has been working around the clock to complete a much-needed electrical upgrade at the Holiday Shop & Bookstore. Unfortunately, someone crawled underneath this building and stripped out the electrical wiring, leaving us with extensive damage that now will cost more and time to get the lights, air and heat running in the Holiday Shop and Book Store for customers, volunteers and interns to enjoy while the shop is open.
We are looking at a cost of $1,500 to replace this wiring.
The ROOF is our first priority. Would there be a group that could do this small roof? A group could sleep in the teen center. I still have to fundraise for this to be done. I want to build the roof up, so we can have a few years to breath from just repairing it.
