“Leonie, do you still make hats?”

What many people don’t know is that Dime Store Diva was actually born as the name of my little side hustle making custom hats.
Then life pulled the rug out from under me, and I had to make some decisions, and make them quickly.
The plan was simple: take one wall of my salon and use it to display my custom hats.
Well… y’all know me. 😂
One wall turned into a little more space. A little more space turned into merchandise. And before I knew it, Dime Store Diva Petite Boutique was born.
Now, 21 months later, I’m living a dream I honestly don’t ever remember dreaming.
I’ve learned something along the way: when failure isn’t an option, you aren’t afraid of hard work, you’re driven by a dash….okay, WAY more than a dash of ADD, and you never, ever rest on your laurel, some pretty incredible things can happen.
So yes, I still do hair.
Yes, I still make hats.
And yes, I run a boutique.
Some might call that a hat trick. 😉
I just call it my life. And I absolutely adore it.
And these beauties? They were picked up today for the most precious couple headed to The King’s Plate. 👑 Basically the Kentucky Derby of Canada! 🇨🇦🐎
Her custom headpiece was created to coordinate with her dress, and of course, he couldn’t head to the races without a little coordinating something of his own.
From a little hat-making side hustle, to all of this.
Funny how sometimes the life you never planned becomes the life you were meant to build. 🧡
