Congratulations to the Gorentflo's Cobia Tournament on 40 AMAZING years of fishing tradition on the Mississippi Gulf Coast!

Ocean Springs Marine Mart would like to thank everyone who has helped make this tournament such a legendary part of our coastal community since 1986. From early mornings at the docks to unforgettable catches offshore, this event has brought together generations of anglers who share a passion for fishing and the Gulf Coast way of life.

Here's to 40 years of memories, friendships, and world-class cobia fishing!

GORENFLO'S COBIA TOURNAMENT FAREWELL LETTER:

We would first like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to our loyal sponsors, our family, friends and the community for supporting the Gorenflo's Cobia Tournament for the past 39 years. We especially would like to thank the hardcore fishermen who have braved many a rough sea through the years and most of all we thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for keeping our fishermen safe out on the water and ALWAYS bringing them back home to us.
Also, a very special thanks to Dr. Jim Franks and his crew from The Gulf Coast Research Lab, Errol and Sheila White, F.J. Eicke, T.J. Becker, Alan Pitalo, Donna Bellais, our dearly departed Linda Osley, Jeannie Reeves, and Mark Kunz, Dodie Rutledge, Rhonda Houtz, Chris and Nicole Carlisle, Josh and Megan Pitalo, Angie Desporte, George and Sharon Pelaez, Joe and Charmaine Lancon, Phil and Mary Rodrigue, Darryl and Marion Platt, Stag and Sarah Pitalo, Jimmy and Sarah Rider, Mike and Laura Jones, Ron and Lema Havard, Katherine Chesser, Brandee Burton, Rusty David, Richard Harris, Tim and Lisa Wold, Cindy Harris, Bobby Carter, Al Jones, Mark Mavar, Kevin Kuluz, and ALL the many others who gave of their time and wisdom to help us with the tournament through the years. Second we wanted everyone to know that the 40th annual cobia tournament will be the last one. It has been a great 40 years. We would like to invite everyone to come out this weekend and help us make this one the biggest of them all! We are dedicating our last tournament to the memory of our dear friend Dr. Jim Franks.
Please join us for the weigh-ins this Saturday 3-7pm and Sunday 12-6pm.

At the awards ceremony we will have a special moment of silence to remember Dr. Jim Franks and our dear friend Jeannie Reeves before we give the Dr. Jim Franks tag and release sportsman award to a very deserving participant.

The end of a tradition has finally come. The 40TH Annual Gorenflo’s Cobia Tournament will be the last. It’s been good run and we couldn’t have done it over the 40 years without all the sponsors, community support, support of family and friends but most of all the FISHERMEN! Come out this weekend and help us make this last one the biggest of them all. Get your LAST edition Gorenflo’s Tournament shirt (available at the weigh-in Sat and Sun), reminiscence about the many tournaments and enjoy a cold beverage with us! Thank you for 40 years of fishing tradition.
