WANTED: A Confident Dog Buddy & A Patient & Kind Family to Mend Jessica Day’s BROKEN HEART 💔
Jessica Day came to us at the beginning of the year after her owner passed away. She lost the person she loved, the home she knew, and suddenly found herself in a shelter.
Jessica was quickly adopted and finally had a loving family again. ❤️ In that home, she lived with two dogs, Shark and Flow. She was still our shy Jessica, but with canine friends beside her, she was comfortable, happy, and learning that the world wasn’t so scary.
Through absolutely no fault of her own, her family had to move and unfortunately couldn’t take her with them
And Jessica came back to us. 💔
This time, the shelter has been especially hard on her. The barking, unfamiliar people, constant activity, and kennel environment have completely overwhelmed her. Jessica has shut down. She’s scared, unsure, and desperately missing the security of a home and the comfort of having other dogs around her.
Jessica is almost 2 years old, 45 lbs, and a Shepherd mix. She isn’t the kind of dog who will run up and immediately ask for attention. Her love has to be earned slowly. She needs someone gentle and patient; someone who won’t rush her, who will celebrate the tiny victories, and who understands that trust may take days, weeks, or longer.
🐾 Jessica MUST have another confident dog in her home. She cannot be an only dog. A confident canine companion helps her feel safe and navigate the world.
🐱 She can warm up to cats with slow, careful introductions.
👧 Older, respectful children who understand boundaries would be best.
🔐 Jessica is a flight risk, so her adopter must take her safety seriously with secure leashing/harnessing and a safely secured yard.
Jessica has already lost so much in her short life. She doesn’t need a perfect person. She needs a patient one. Someone willing to meet her exactly where she is and show her, little by little, that she’s safe again. ❤️🩹
Please help us find Jessica Day a home where she can finally exhale and never have to start over again. 🏡🐾
