Familiar Faces: Danielle Gammon Photography

This one's personal. Danielle Gammon is my best friend — and every single year, without fail, she's the one behind the camera for our Christmas pictures. That tradition alone should tell you everything about how much I trust her with a camera and a room full of chaos.
Danielle runs an in-home photography studio and shoots the full range — families, kids, milestones, holidays, whatever you need captured. She's got that rare gift of making people relax in front of a lens, which if you've ever tried to get a family to smile on command, you know is basically witchcraft.
And if you want to really stand out? She brings goats. Actual goats. For photos. So if your Christmas card game needs an upgrade this year, that's an option now.
I've watched her build this from the ground up, one session at a time, one referral at a time — no studio chain, no corporate backing, just talent, a whole lot of hustle, and apparently some very cooperative goats.

Gather 'round. It's time for a confession. 🖤

I talk to my chickens like they're familiars. Full conversations. Strategy meetings, even. I'm fairly certain one of them is plotting something, and I respect it.

I also own more craft supplies than I could use in three lifetimes, yet somehow "need" more every single week. This is not a hoarding problem. This is a stockpiling for the apocalypse problem. Very different.

And yes — I've absolutely named a tumbler before it left the studio. It had main character energy. It deserved a name.

⏳ TIME TRAVEL TUESDAY ⏳

On this day in 1928, Alexander Fleming came back from vacation, glanced at a petri dish he'd been too lazy/busy to clean before he left, and noticed mold growing on it had killed off the surrounding bacteria.

That "gross forgotten dish in the lab" moment became penicillin. The first antibiotic. One of the biggest medical breakthroughs in human history — and it happened because a man didn't do his dishes before a trip. 🧫

I say this with my whole chest as someone who has absolutely turned a "wait, I forgot I had this leftover ribbon/bead/scrap" moment into an entire product line: sometimes the mess IS the breakthrough. Don't apologize for the chaos. Audit it later.

You don't know what it cost them to post that. You do know what it costs you to keep measuring yourself against a version of someone else's life that doesn't actually exist off-screen.

Take heart: you're not behind. You're just on a different clock, and nobody handed out the schedule.
