Wood blushing is the milky, cloudy haze that can appear when moisture becomes trapped in a finish—usually because it was applied in high humidity, cold temperatures, or before the previous coat fully dried.

Clear there are two@products that are always on my workshop shelf; shellac from Home Depot is a great restoration product because it dries quickly, seals the wood, helps lock in stains and odors, and enhances the natural warmth and grain. Mohawk No Blush Retarder can help correct cloudiness in lacquer finishes by briefly re-flowing the coating so the trapped moisture can escape, leaving the surface clear and even again.

A beautifully graphic vintage Danish Dining table by Gangsø Møbler, featuring an exceptional ceramic tile composition.

The tiled surface is defined by an expressive arrangement of overlapping circular forms, linear detailing, warm earthy browns and subtle black accents, all grounded against a soft cream backdrop. The richly toned wood frame brings warmth and balance to the graphic tilework.

There is nothing delicate about the ‘chic’ nature of the furniture restoration business. Except of course the final product and that inevitable happy clients face.

Is it weird that I get attached to furniture? I literally pour sweat and tears over these pieces. And sometimes I regret letting them go. And there is a reason you don’t see the ‘chic’ person on the other side covered in sawdust and stain! 🤣
