Several people have asked for more details on making this skirt. I used 45” wide pieces for the front and for the back. I then sewed up one side seam and sewed a narrow hem all across the top. Next, I pleated 15 rows and smocked all the way across, starting on the second row. Once the smocking was complete, I stitch 3 rows of 1/4” elastic across the back. One was just under the top row of smocking, one in the middle of the smocking and one next to the last row of smocking. Lastly, I sewed the remaining side seam and hem! It was very easy although it did take a long time to smock. This fabric hangs beautifully and I love the color!
