shop closing...
welp, this isn't exactly how I thought this would play out, but here we are. I was informed earlier this week that my time in the Central City Start-up Space is over.
I opened my shop in April 2023 with a 15-month license agreement with The City. I was able to negotiate with the city to keep me on after June 2024 (the original contract end date). I'm so thankful for the extra Central City Opera Season and finishing out summer/fall 2024 in The City.
Now, it's on to the next chapter though. What is that exactly? I don't know to be honest :) I've been looking for another shop space for that whole time. I'm finding most are unaffordable to me and my type of business. So I'll likely move back to a focus on online sales. I'm still happy to do local sales/delivery, but I just won't have a shop front where you can come peruse. It's going to be different for us all, but I hope y'all will stick with me through it.
I'm still processing this and really trying to navigate the landscape. I likely won't have the shop in Central open that much more. 1) it's winter and it's frigid. folks don't like that :) 2) I will be moving everything out of that space by the end of February.
I'm not giving up on a storefront. I've loved meeting y'all, hearing your stories, and just having you hang out in the shop. It's been a completely different experience for me than having an online shop or a booth in another store. Y'all got me HOOKED! I'm completely open if you know of a space or person that is willing to have a nerdy antique lover rent their space.
That's all for now. I just wanted to get the news out there from me before it starts coming from other channels.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. for everything.
