Commercial Glazes with Carolina

Transform your bisque-fired pottery with vibrant finishes, intricate layering techniques, and expert application using Mayco commercial glazes.

Bring your own bisqued piece or select one from our studio collection. Learn how glaze interaction behaves during firing, experiment with Mayco combinations, and create your own finished masterpiece.

Curriculum & Technique
What you will explore:
1. Mayco Glazes
Understand glaze chemistry, color saturation, and predictable commercial application across varied clays.
2. Layering Craft
Discover how multiple glaze layers melt, react, and pool together to produce distinctive, nuanced surfaces.
3. Kiln Firing
After glazing, pieces are fired in the Cariku kiln and packaged for pickup as durable, display-ready ceramic art.

Four-Week Wheel Throwing — $220
Learn centering, pulling, and trimming through four weekly classes. Includes four complimentary Open Studio sessions.
Four-Week Hand-Building — $220
Explore pinch, coil, and slab techniques while creating your own mugs, vessels, and sculptural forms. Includes four complimentary Open Studio sessions.
Head & Torso Sculpture Masterclass — $450
Build a powerful, hollow human sculpture from clay slabs and patterns. Complete the three sessions over three consecutive days or once a week for three weeks. Join a scheduled class or call us to arrange your preferred dates. Includes two complimentary Open Studio sessions.
One-Day Pottery Experiences — $80 per person
Choose wheel throwing or hand-building during a guided two-hour session, perfect for beginners, date nights, and creative weekends. All materials, tools, glazing, and firing are included. Book an available date or call us to schedule your own.
Private Pottery Lesson — $120
Enjoy two hours of personalized, one-on-one instruction in wheel throwing, slab construction, or trimming. Call us to schedule a time that works for you.
